Description
Madeleine Roux's New York Times bestselling Asylum is a thrilling and creepy photo-illustrated novel that Publishers Weekly called "a strong YA debut that reveals the enduring impact of buried trauma on a place."
For sixteen-year-old Dan Crawford, the New Hampshire College Prep program is the chance of a lifetime. Except that when Dan arrives, he finds that the usual summer housing has been closed, forcing students to stay in the crumbling Brookline Dorm. The dorm was formerly a sanatorium, more commonly known as an asylum. And not just any asylum—a last resort for the criminally insane.
As Dan and his new friends Abby and Jordan start exploring Brookline's twisty halls and hidden basement, they uncover disturbing secrets about what really went on at Brookline . . . secrets that link Dan and his friends to the asylum's dark past. Because Brookline was no ordinary asylum, and there are some secrets that refuse to stay buried.
Featuring found photographs from real asylums and filled with chilling mystery and page-turning suspense, Asylum is a horror story that treads the line between genius and insanity, perfect for fans of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.
Don't miss any of the books in the Asylum series, or Madeleine Roux's shivery fantasy series, House of Furies!

Good Teen Mystery
4By ___Chpter___I bought this book on a whim. I needed a quick free reading book for class and I was very happy! It’s a good book and combines mystery with teen drama very well.INTENSE AND FUN
5By MIN YOONGI IS MY HUSBANDIf you love a mystery and a story that doesn’t make sense at first but then takes an unexpected turn that suddenly brings realization to your head then I would read this! It’s really fun and intense, but if you get scared easily, or hate horror or scary things then I wouldn’t read it since it has those categories in it. Overall I’m a person with very high expectations when it comes to books and this one went past my expectations which suprise me but I loved it since it’s been awhile since I’ve read a book that wouldn’t make me sleep. If you’ve read Miss Peregrines Home got Peculiar Children and liked that book I would read this one because it’s similar.Okay
3By twilightZ86This book was okay. Written on the reading level of a fourth grader with somewhat one dimensional characters, probably meant for a younger audience. Cool pics, though. Not sorry I read it, however, and will probably read the rest of the books in this series at some point as it is very fast reading and mildly entertaining...AMAZING

5By Love, joy, hope!I literally just finished this book in a day it's so creative i loveMK ULTRA
5By FghvfdchDoes anyone else think this could be a story about MK ULTRA. For those of you that don’t know MK ULTRA was an experiment that the U.S. government did that they attempted to mind control on innocent men and women at hospitals, colleges, pharmacies, and multiple prisons. They used many different methods as in different torture methods, mental/phisical/and sexual abuse. By the way I love this book, it kept me on the edge of my seat.I have this book in real life
5By QuackinPandaThis is an amazing book. Saving money to get the next two books at barns and noble.Edge Of Your Seat Read
5By VoluptuousBDivaI cannot begin to express just how much I loved reading this book. I wasn't even halfway through it and I had already purchased the second book in this series. This is truly a creepy read as it blends young adults, an old and abandoned asylum with portions of it turned into dorm rooms, vintage pictures and of course an eerily paranormal factor. Edge of your seat, spine tingling read that pulls you in right from the very beginning and overwhelms your senses with a strong storyline, well developed characters and the world building was fantastic. I can't wait to start reading the second book as I must say that I was completely impressed by the author's skill at storytelling and the goosebumps I got while reading this book.Amazing
