5By GoodwyfePhenomenal book, first introduction to author Patrick Ness, and I can't say enough good things about this book. It's under children's fiction, but I found it to be very grown-up. The choices that the young teenagers are forced to make by their circumstances are riveting and heart breaking at the same time. Another "Lord of the Flies" with adults thrown in. The savagery and beauty of the different shades of humanity throughout the book keep you reading. That thing that the author calls "hope" will keep me coming back for more.Brilliant
