I have been in IT for 25 years. I started in Visual Basic (well, really in COBOL & Natural / ADABAS, but let’s not go there), and moved on to .NET & C#. While I fel very solid with .NET, I totally struggled to understand iOS / Objective-C when it came to ‘re-tool’ myself as an iOS developer. At the limits of my frustration, I came across the ‘iOS App Development for Non-Programmers’ series, and decided to give it a try. After all, if the series was written for non-programmers, I figured I would be able to understand it. I could not have made a better decision. I understood what it was I needed to know, but in the very foreign world of iOS & Objective-C, I was at my wits end. With the iOS App Development series, I was able to quickly wade through what I already knew as an experienced programmer, and pick up on the things I needed to know to navigate the landscape of iOS programming. If you’re an experienced developer attempting to break into iOS development, or if you totally new to programming and just trying to make a start, I totally recomment the entire series (Books 1, 2, and 3). They WILL get you over the hump, and get you going in mobile development on the iOS platform!
