KAHAYATLE. My name is Bryn Mathis. I'm seventeen years old, and I live in a neighborhood outside of Orlando, Florida. I’m here alone because my dad died almost a year ago, along with all the other adults in the world. I'm almost out of food, and the gangs of kids that roam around my town are getting more vicious by the day. It's time for me to leave and find another place to live ... a place where I can find food and shelter ... a place where they won't be able to find me. Alone, it might have been possible, but now I've got company. I'm worried that I don't have what it takes to get from here to my final destination, and I have no idea what might be waiting for me when I get there.

Content Warning: Mild violence and some foul language within. Meant for older Young Adult readers (age 15+).

HERE’S WHAT READERS ARE SAYING ABOUT APOCALYPSIS: BOOK 1 (KAHAYATLE):

The storytelling was absolutely first class.” ~Trevor Morris, reviewer

"Elle Casey has done it again. Created a world that drags you in and won't let you go.  I think I am a little bit in love with her brain ... at least the imagination part of it.  I love books that make me root for the characters, and this one has you rooting from the very first page..." ~ Cynthia Shepp book reviews

"What took me so flipping long to read this book?! Apocalypsis: Kahayatle was so very different than what I expected - but just that much better because of it. Elle Casey creates a world ridden with violence and horror and injects the perfect amount of belly-laughing sarcasm, wit, and romance. Her characterization is phenomenal and honest through a setting that is disturbingly realistic..." BetweentheBind.blogspot.com ~ Jenna, Book Blogger

"Wow. I just finished Apocalypsis and all I can say is I loved it! It was incredible! It was classic Elle Casey: funny, a little spooky, well written and absolutely engrossing! I couldn't put it down. I cannot wait until the next one comes out!! Five stars and many thanks, Elle Casey!!"  ~ "Fantasy Fan", Amazon reviewer

  • Shocked by all the good reviews

This book LEAPT into a far-fetched premise (all adults over age 20 died—on schedule—of an unspecified illness that didn’t affect anyone younger as they aged) with a series of ridiculous coincidences (our heroine HAPPENS to be a Krav Maga expert, the EXACT helpful gear appears, JUST the right helpers show up, etc.), and episodes of horrifying societal breakdown that made some degree of sense, perhaps, but were seriously depressing given the mess we adults have managed to make of the planet. I can’t fathom why anyone would bother reading the rest of the series. There are much, much better postapocalyptic books out there than this.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I read till it was finished and got to know the main characters. They were real in both their humane sense and fighting stance. Thank you. Len

  • Wonderful, Great Read

Just finished the series, loved it. I enjoyed the fact that the books were not front loaded with a heavy back story. Nothing kills a book more. Fun likable characters, with imperfections. Easy to root for one or all. The idea of our spoiled teenagers having to start over scares me, in this internet age, with nothing but their wits. Being a huge science fiction fan it was only the previous reads of Elle Casey that made me look at this series. I was not disappointed, in fact thrilled with how much fun this series was to read. Usually I will skip a book and read something between a series. Not with Elles' writing. I never got bored. Cannot wait to read something else by this wonderful author.

This work is the perfect combo of childish fantasy mixed with adult ideas. Even when you're an adult you still love the world of magic and magical beings. This story is chock full of wonder and the realistic ideas of a young Jayne Sparks. She reacts to her horrific yet fantastic new world exactly as I imagined I would! With bravery and a well deserved F***! Elle Casey dives even deeper into the ideas of right and wrong, good and evil, and even personifies the idea of The Gray area. This book is artistic and fun. I read all 8 books of the series that are out in a week. I cannot wait for books 9 and 10. If you love the world of elves, pixies, and dragons this book is for you. This series made Elle Casey my favorite author. The books really spoke to me.

I am well into the second book and have to say that I love it! Has been a long time since a book has made me laugh. I love the humor and the story moves fast enough to keep my attention. Just enough detail too. I don't give reviews often but when I do, it's because it's THAT good.

This book was great right from the start. Surprisingly funny for the subject matter. The entire series is great! Loved all four books!

Interesting story. A little far fetched but hey it's fiction after all. I like books with more detail and realism. It took me much longer to read this because there wasn't enough to the story to keep me going. I will probably read the rest of the series but it wasn't good enough to have me chomping at the bit to get the next one. I liked the characters and the main scheme of the book. It flows well and I didn't notice any errors in grammar.
