Description
A new story of common wisdom from the best-selling author of The Traveler’s Gift.
Orange Beach, Alabama, is a simple town filled with simple people. But like all humans on the planet, the good folks of Orange Beach have their share of problems—marriages teetering on the brink of divorce, young adults giving up on life, business people on the verge of bankruptcy, as well as the many other obstacles that life seems to dish out to the masses.
Fortunately, when things look the darkest, a mysterious man named Jones has a miraculous way of showing up. An elderly man with white hair, of indiscriminate age and race, wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and leather flip flops carrying a battered old suitcase, Jones is a unique soul. Communicating what he calls “a little perspective,” he explains that he has been given a gift of noticing things that others miss. “Your time on this earth is a gift to be used wisely,” he says. “Don’t squander your words or your thoughts. Consider even the simplest action you take, for your lives matter beyond measure…and they matter forever.”
Jones speaks to that part in everyone that is yearning to understand why things happen and what we can do about it.
Like The Traveler’s Gift, The Noticer is a unique narrative blend of fiction, allegory, and inspiration in which gifted storyteller Andy Andrews helps us see how becoming a “noticer” just might change a person’s life forever.

5By Nana JoJo YoYoGreat book! I felt the overall effect of the book was based on positivety and love. I guess you could say that is my perspective. Jones was an encourager and because of that and a love for others, was able to tell people the truth about their situation/stage in life. He backed it up with examples of that person's life or examples of others lives to get the point across. I appreciated the difference between making a mistake and a choice where forgiveness is concerned. As simple as Jones' perspective is, why don't we see the domino effect actions have from the past and to the future? Like Jesus with His examples - so simple yet so profound! I would think "why didn't I think of that?" But then, I'm not God. I also got the impression that Jones was like Paul from the Bible. He was all things to all people. Jones appeared to people as someone who looked like themselves (ethnicity) that made speaking to them more effective/relatable. He appeared old and dressed ordinary which, I think, would put people at ease and more trusting. The book spoke to me. I feel I need to go back and make a list of reminders for myself of things to do and do differently - that's my intention which amounts to nothing unless I actually do it! I, personally, felt the book showed me a new perspective on relating to others and myself. You're never too old to change as long as you're breathing! The Noticer

4By JohnpassaroIt's all how you view things - your perspective in life that eventually increases or decreases your life's value and importance. Really liked the part that described the difference between making a mistake and making a choice. Overall a very thought provoking book.Wonderful read
5By floorman726Andy Andrews is fast becoming my favorite author. His style is second to none. He makes you think about your own life and with that a desire to better it. This book like I'm sure all his others you could read again and again. The wisdom and simple yet dead on life principals can be life changing if you let it. Looking forward to reading ALL is books! I recommend this book wholeheartedly!! ...."Step into the light" J. WestThe Noticer
