Description
#1 New York Times Bestseller
“Funny and smart as hell” (Bill Gates), Allie Brosh’s Hyperbole and a Half showcases her unique voice, leaping wit, and her ability to capture complex emotions with deceptively simple illustrations.
FROM THE PUBLISHER:
Every time Allie Brosh posts something new on her hugely popular blog Hyperbole and a Half the internet rejoices.
This full-color, beautifully illustrated edition features more than fifty percent new content, with ten never-before-seen essays and one wholly revised and expanded piece as well as classics from the website like, “The God of Cake,” “Dogs Don’t Understand Basic Concepts Like Moving,” and her astonishing, “Adventures in Depression,” and “Depression Part Two,” which have been hailed as some of the most insightful meditations on the disease ever written.
Brosh’s debut marks the launch of a major new American humorist who will surely make even the biggest scrooge or snob laugh. We dare you not to.
FROM THE AUTHOR:
This is a book I wrote. Because I wrote it, I had to figure out what to put on the back cover to explain what it is. I tried to write a long, third-person summary that would imply how great the book is and also sound vaguely authoritative—like maybe someone who isn’t me wrote it—but I soon discovered that I’m not sneaky enough to pull it off convincingly. So I decided to just make a list of things that are in the book:
Pictures
Words
Stories about things that happened to me
Stories about things that happened to other people because of me
Eight billion dollars*
Stories about dogs
The secret to eternal happiness*
*These are lies. Perhaps I have underestimated my sneakiness!

1By ChestersdadBought it based on Bill Gates’ review. Most anyone literally could have written and illustrated this. Just terrible.Interesting and funny take on depression and self deprivation.
4By MeImTommyThis book is a little all over the place but a very good read. I had a partner who suffered from a lot of the same struggles and I really enjoyed the authors perspective and creativity on her struggles.I just don’t get this
2By {Beta_Tester}I feel like this is a remarkable book, however I don’t understand the point. It doesn’t end, It just stops abruptly and doesn’t show a theme or any meaningAMAZING

5By Cpark1817It is one thing to write something relatable, but it is much more impressive to write something that makes readers feel as if the book was written about them. I don't know if it is a coincidence but every single story she writes has one of my memories tied to it. I loved every second I spent reading this book.Parts were funny...
3By Hturn21But overall it was kinds strange. I checked it out from the library--wouldn't pay $7 for it.AMAZING BOOK
5By BunnskulAllie Brosh really did a phenomenal, a fantastic job of both writing and drawing. The style of the characters make it seem playful. The choice of words make the book intriguing. A must read!Loved it!
5By PandraswrathI loved this book so much, I bought it twice (you're welcome, Ally!). I originally bought it on my laptop, but then the laptop died a horrible flaming death. I had this urge to read it again. I originally bought it on Amazon, but am really too lazy to remember my user name and password. It was totally worth $6.99 to not go through the torture of remembering those things again!HILARIOUS
5By Mad dog geeziLOVE IT! It's hilarious and heartwarming. The creativity and honesty in the book makes you feel like Allie Brosh is your best friend. I would personally get the physical copy of the book, though. It is easier to enjoy. Anyway, if you love humor in bizzar yet interesting life stories, THIS is the book for you.
