1By nysa00Apparently this was a fifty page story that the author decided to stretch out with repetition and details that added nothing to the story. I knew there was a problem when a bad date that could have been summed up in a paragraph went on for an entire chapter, during which we were told no less than 5 times that the heroine is a chef. I kept going because I love shifters and thought it might improve after the setup. Nope, the whole book was like that.Purrfectly Mated by C.D. Gerri

4By Avid New ReaderI found this to be a good re-written expansion of the first book in the Maverick Tales series from 2019. I liked Uncle Uzzi as a character. The expanded version allows for a deeper sense of character development and increased explanation of items that help for those wanting a grasp of the full story. The additional details, expanded plot twists, and even more cute (and sexy) times makes this a keeper and a must read. I recommend this for a thoroughly enjoyable read!. Although some characters have changed and one story line is not in this version it’s still the best of Gorri! My introduction in the shifter world!! Hunter is the alpha for the Maverick Tiger Pride and is losing control of his tiger without a mate. So Gerri has this bright idea to fix the sexy chef Lissa up with Hunter. The mate bond is instantaneous between Hunter and Lissa. OMG!! The inner monologue of the characters is flippin hilarious!! A lot of steam and mystery of who is undermining Hunter and the Maverick Pride.Excellent!

When she refuses to go along with the guys plans for the night, he dumps her along the side of the road in the middle of nowhere in the rain. As she is walking home, soaking wet and freezing, an elderly man in a limousine offers her a ride. She knows she shouldn’t but she also knows she won’t make it home otherwise. He introduces himself as Uncle Uzzi and indeed he seems harmless enough, and riding in a limousine isn’t bad at all. Uncle Uzzi knows she is the perfect mate for the Alpha that he is on his way to see, but when he learns she is a professional chef and needs a job, he tells her he has the perfect job for her if she will accompany him to where he is going. She is still a little skeptical, but decides to go with her gut that is telling her to trust him. Hunter is the Alpha, or Neta, of the Maverick Pride of Tiger shifters. He has been so busy trying to run the pride and the construction business since his father died he doesn’t have time to do anything else. When someone starts rumors that he isn’t an effective Alpha because he isn’t mated and contracts start dropping for the business that supports the pride, he contacts Uzzi’s Magical Matchmaking Service. Hopefully Uzzi can help him out because he doesn’t have time to look for a mate! When Hunter and Elissa meet, the sparks fly, literally. Elissa has just learned about shifters from Uzzi and is a little skeptical, but she can’t deny the attraction she feels towards him. When she agrees to be his mate everyone is thrilled! Well, apparently not everyone! This is a cute and funny story. I love Elissa and her attitude. Don’t miss it!. And I am thrilled that she kept the big cats and the original feel of the story. The author really outdid herself with this series starter. The book fits perfectly with the other books in her world and yet it still contains that flare that makes this one of my one-click authors. I enjoyed the instant connection, the overflowing romance and physical connection between the characters, and the air of angst and danger that brought depth to the story. I can’t wait to read the next book by this author I really hope it’s Brayden and Jess’s story. I feel like there might be something special there. Elissa and Hunter quickly become mates and the “Puspa” starts leaving Lissa wondering if she’s going crazy. It all comes to a head when the traitor is revealed and loyalties reaffirmed. Oh my this one will have you laughing at how Elissa finds herself a shifter mate and a female leader to her mate, but danger is stalking her mate and herself. I loved that Elissa is brave and a fighter that can cook way better than anyone in the pride. I loved how strong and tough Hunter is when it comes to his mate and his pride.
