Description
#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER ∙ A random connection sends two strangers on a daylong adventure where they make a promise one keeps and the other breaks, with life-changing effects, in this breathtaking novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Every Summer After.
Fern Brookbanks has wasted far too much of her adult life thinking about Will Baxter. She spent just twenty-four hours in her early twenties with the aggravatingly attractive, idealistic artist, a chance encounter that spiraled into a daylong adventure in the city. The timing was wrong, but their connection was undeniable: they shared every secret, every dream, and made a pact to meet one year later. Fern showed up. Will didn’t.
At thirty-two, Fern’s life doesn’t look at all how she once imagined it would. Instead of living in the city, Fern’s back home, running her mother’s lakeside resort—something she vowed never to do. The place is in disarray, her ex-boyfriend’s the manager, and Fern doesn’t know where to begin.
She needs a plan—a lifeline. To her surprise, it comes in the form of Will, who arrives nine years too late, with a suitcase in tow and an offer to help on his lips. Will may be the only person who understands what Fern’s going through. But how could she possibly trust this expensive-suit wearing mirage who seems nothing like the young man she met all those years ago. Will is hiding something, and Fern’s not sure she wants to know what it is.
But ten years ago, Will Baxter rescued Fern. Can she do the same for him?

4By Mrs. Cull3nReally enjoy this. I felt like I lived in this world of a resort and it was awesome. Like a modern day Dirty Dancing. Love it.Disappointed
2By nmedarisI read Every Summer After and absolutely loved it so I was excited to read this one. It was disappointing. It was very long and drawn out. Also I felt it encouraged chasing after a man that had wronged her too many times and made excuses for his behavior. The storyline was good, but that part frustrated me.A sweet read.
5By paige<33How can you not love Will and Fern? Their connection is undeniable and the journey to their happy ending is a sweet one. It’s not even super predictable which I loved. The ties between family and friends is so special. And having ferns mom along in the way she is while not really being there is quite special.Such a good read

4By ok1596This was a great story, I loved it. It was heart wrenching and an emotional rollercoaster, all at the right timing. It was a beautiful book and I would love to know when Carley’s next book comes out. I cant get enough of her books. It does start off a little slow. But when it gets going, it’s definitely going. A+ would definitely recommend.Great read!!
5By mouseyboo12.Great until I read- Behind the Book
4By Bummy76I have to say I truly enjoyed this book. The characters were great and my heart simply embraced Will. His kindness and sensitivity were so attractive. I enjoyed how the story flipped between their day together and present day. I don’t think the ending could have ended any better. I was eager to order Every Summer After…and then I read the section, Behind the Book. This could have been a great section on your experience and life lessons but then you had to share with us your belief on the termination of a baby’s life before birth. There are many of us out there who support the right to life and are offended by your view. I think most people love to read to escape, for awhile, the hard times we live in. I’m not sure why you felt the need to share your political views, but it turned me right off.
