Cotton farmer, Luke Canfield, is amused when he sees the lovely woman dressed in ruffles and bows dragging a suitcase behind her. He's even more intrigued when the little spit-fire sets him in his place for not arriving to fetch her despite his wagon breaking down.
It doesn't take long for Leah to realize that she needs Luke in order to help the people of Possum Hollow trust the new outsider, especially when her efforts to improve their life leave them thinking she's offering charity.
