Description

USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa brings the conclusion of the Impossible Possible duet with The Truth About Us.

Every night, I find myself caught between dreams and wakefulness.
Yearning for a past that slips through my fingers.
Each night, whisper prayers into the darkness.
Longing for just one kiss, one more touch . . .

Longing for her.

Maybe forever is a lie.
The truth is that tragedy will always break your heart.
But maybe, this time, I can build something greater out of tragedy.
Maybe . . . just maybe love isn’t as lost as I once thought.
And maybe forever might still happen to me.

The final book in the Impossible Possible duet examines grief, loss, and ultimate love put to the test.

As only Claudia Burgoa can with her duets, she breaks your heart in the first one but puts it back together in the second book of the duet. This was no exception and both books were excellent.

The Truth About Us is the second book in the Impossibly Possible Duet by Claudia Burgoa. This book picks up several years after the last book ended. Gabe Decker was a workaholic Oncologist who was mourning the loss of Ameline. He had never shared anything about his feelings for Ameline, and his family was pressuring him to change his specialty and begin dating. When his mother asked him to pick his sister up at the airport he was shocked to find that Ameline was on the same flight. Gabe seized the opportunity to offer Ameline support with her visit to see her estranged sister and hoped to win her back. He basically badgered her into accepting his assistance in the beginning. This is a romance novel, so a happy ending is to be expected, but I don’t want to go into any further detail and spoil the story. I really enjoyed this book. Gabe was as steadfast, loving, and dedicated to Ameline in this book as he had been in the first. He made himself indispensable to her and helped with a very complicated family situation. Ameline was guarded, but neither had ever stopped loving the other and their reconciliation was inevitable. They were older and more mature, better equipped to deal with the curveballs life had sent them. This book definitely put me back together after the terrible ending to the first half of the duet, when everything seemed hopeless. The author does an excellent job of breaking her characters down and then reassembling them as better versions of themselves. Second time around, Ameline was welcomed into the heart of the Decker family, no longer a secret. I would love to be a member of that family! Not only is it a large, loving family, but they have money that helps to overcome a lot of obstacles that would be very difficult for someone like me, or Ameline. I definitely recommend this book/duet for readers who enjoy emotional, anyxty contemporary romance novels. I would like to thank Wildfire Marketing Solutions and Claudia Burgoa for this ARC. I am voluntarily submitting this honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Ameline and Gabe’s story does not continue right where book one dives off its cliff…there’s a substantial time jump. Gabe has done a lot with himself, but is miserable. Ameline’s time is a little bit sparse on details, and there’s one particular connection that isn’t explained as much as I would have liked. Watching them try to come back from their past was great, and you have to cheer for them, considering the trauma they’ve been through. I appreciate the angst and drama both families bring to the table, but yikes! It was a lot. The story was a bit uneven in places, slow and repetitive then jumping and speeding up when I needed more. Still, it was a good duet with interesting characters, both villains and, while not angels, the rest, lol. 4 stars

Okay so book one left me shredded. I couldn’t wait to read this book. I needed to know if Gabe found what his heart had needed to heal. I needed to know if Ame got the family she desperately wanted in Gabe. And I got all the answers and so, so much more. I love how Claudia always give us more of the family. She ties the book together so perfectly that you can’t help but crave her writing, crave her books. This book gives us exactly that and hopefully a glimpse into the next book she will give us. Another Decker family members love story. Gabe and Ame are what Epic love are defined as. A love that would never die. A love that would out live space and time and sickness. Epic as always a book by Claudia Burgoa!

What a conclusion to this duet. Claudia strings our emotions along in the prologue and then BAM! Lol 10 years have passed and Gabe…sweet Gabe..has become a workaholic to help him forget…or move on…or find his new normal. It’s not working out the best and his family is concerned. He think they are coming town for an intervention…it turns out to be so much more as many truths from the past come to light. I went through so many emotions reading this story..heartbreak, sadness, joy and love. I binge read the book because I had to know what happened. Claudia is good about putting us back together…we get an HEA…just in a different way. I don’t want to give the story away so I will keep my review short. This is a must read (after the first book, of course). This is my favorite duet from Claudia. Xoxo

Sometimes life has a way of of completely turning around and this romance does exactly that! The grief, the sorrow, the impossible situation left us with such heartbreak but then the truth begins to come out when everything seems like it just won’t work and then love steps in and helps to soothe, encourage and hope for the soul mate and their love. What a journey for Ameline and Gabe. Be sure to grab the tissues!♥️
