The Ride of My Life: From Street Gangs to Motorcycle Clubs to Social Worker
By Justin "Mooch" DeLoretto
- Release Date: 2023-09-07
- Genre: Transportation
Description
The Ride of My Life is a coming-of-age book, both for Justin DeLoretto and for America.
Justin joined a 1%-er motorcycle club in pursuit of age-old values of brotherhood, honor and respect. He never lost those values, but he watched them come under fire in America as clearly as in club life, where gaining personal power become the highest objective, rather than honoring the code that once bound his community.
Pursuing a new career in social work, Justin carried the old values to a new generation of youth caught in the riptide of a world increasingly defined by personal gain over communal well-being.

4By Bullshido MasterThis is a good and current read. A story of someone evolving from the virility and craziness of youth to the wisdom and humility of getting older. The way Mooch conducts himself on podcasts and in writing this book leads me to believe he is a man worth knowing. Oh yeah it’s also about motorcycles which is always cool.Fascinating
5By S1098765Justin “Mooch” Deloretto has lived a fascinating life and has used that to write a fascinating book. He was a SHARP (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice), a leadership member of a 1%er MC, and a social worker. His book talks about each of these iterations, but focuses on his time in a 1%er MC, which I was most interested in (I read and review a lot of MC Romance novels). This book reads as very real and sometimes gritty, but never negative. I liked his philosophies of honor, tradition, brotherhood, and positivity. Indeed, he looks back at his life with a positive attitude and sees the tough times and the good times as having equal influence shaping him. I think that anyone curious about the MC lifestyle would find this book very satisfying. I wish the author the best of luck in his future endeavors. I was fortunate enough to receive an advance review copy for free. This is my honest, voluntary review.A must read
5By issues1%erA very accurate depiction of how crazy , and demanding a 1%er life is…. And how he was able to turn his life aroundGreat book if you haven’t seen his interviews
5By Lildad209Overall it was a good book but kinda short and covers but also still keeps alot of “club business” secret. Mooch’s downfall was he did a million interviews and basically told 75% of what was in the book already for small YouTubers with 100subs. I heard of him thru those interviews so it was a good thing but you gotta keep some stuff for the book at least. If you’re picking this up with limited knowledge of mooch it’s a great book and you can tell he was truly trying to make changes in the club for the better and a genuine good guy. I also read Juniors book the unknown mongol and it’s nice to hear from mooch who I believe more than junior about what a dirtbag junior was in the club. Overall good book I’m happy with my purchase. I just used text to speech on each chapter and flew thru the book. I wish it included more club stories and more in depth about that like the unknown mongol books.
