SEVEN SAINTS IN LOCKDOWN: HOW THEY BECAME OVERCOMERS

2020 will be remembered as the year of the COVID-19 virus that plunged the entire global community into a state of chaos and fear. Most of the world's citizens found themselves in a lockdown position.

Residents of South Africa were considered to have experienced one of the strictest lockdown regimes in the world.Months of being strictly regulated led to economic hardship for many. Some businesses never recovered. Social distancing, strict hygiene protocols, and mandatory wearing of masks added to the stress of trying to live a normal life. Some people have expressed a wish to move to a desert island and live there all by themselves. The lockdown experience gave a whole new dimension to that thought. People did not enjoy being separated from their family and peers.

Many suffered what has been called Lockdown Fatigue. The uncertainty of the times has caused stress and impaired thinking, and many people became depressed as a result. Some even committed suicide.

Christians are not immune to this kind of negative impact, but the good news is there is an answer to this dilemma. We can be overcomers despite our circumstances. We are going to follow seven Old Testament believers who experienced lockdown during their lifetimes. They were overcomers and teach us the secret of victorious living.
