NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
“This novel blindsided me with twists and surprises that had me gasping…and with a poignancy about relationships and love that one rarely finds in the genre. A brilliant, brilliant book.” —Jodi Picoult, #1 New York Times bestselling author
From the author of Reese’s Book Club Pick and New York Times bestseller Wrong Place Wrong Time comes an addictive thriller about a new mother’s world upended when her husband commits a terrifying crime. How well does she truly know the man she loves? And what danger does she face if her entire life has been built on a lie?
It is June 21st, the longest day of the year, and new mother Camilla’s life is about to change forever. After months of maternity leave, she will drop her infant daughter off at daycare for the first time and return to her job as a literary agent. Finally. But, when she wakes, her husband Luke isn’t there, and in his place is a cryptic note.
Then it starts. Breaking news: there's a hostage situation developing in London. The police arrive, and tell her Luke is involved. But he isn't a hostage. Her husband - doting father, eternal optimist - is the gunman.
What she does next is crucial. Because only she knows what the note he left behind that morning says...
Famous Last Words is the story of a crime, a marriage, and more secrets than Camilla ever could have imagined. This novel cements Gillian McAllister’s reputation as “the best at putting her characters in impossible situations and making her readers not only contemplate but feel what it would be like to find themselves in those situations.” (Emily Henry)

5By F15 MomUnique and kept me guessing!Very slow
2By AndrealynnstuartfarrisHard to stick with it.Love a good mystery!
5By xelahuLove how this book unfolded! Truly kept the big clues til the very end 👏🏼Absolutely fantastic!
5By spremnSpectacular. I hope this becomes a Netflix mini seriesMystery- not suspense
3By areyoufinkiddingmeIt’s not really long, but I found myself thinking that I would never finish it. It’s 80% mystery, but I had figured out who the bad guys were 15% into the book. I guess I’m just not very good at reading British novels. I like to use the built-in dictionary for words or phrases I’m not familiar with. But unfortunately, the English dictionary has no idea either about: Took the piss; Five-a-side; Ping the mast? I tried to figure it out from context but was unable. I’m a reader who reads like I’m watching a movie, so this was a bit frustrating.Just ok
3By Patti29624The book had a good story plot, but I never felt a connection with the characters, and I felt some parts of the book was drawn out to long.Fast-paced, gripping.
4By JpalaskyFascinating and complex plot. Thrilling until the climax which seemed rushed and confusing. More than a little sappy at the end.Fast Paced and Supenseful
4By catita ameliaI love a book that has twists and is realistic but not predictable. Read in 3 evenings and never felt bored. She is a very good author.Famous last words.
3By gold2.718Okay writing. Plot seemed a bit implausible.Good read
4By Gre. MdInteresting but sometimes a little slow.A definite favorite
5By iluv88There is no time to wonder if this book is good, you are swept immediately into a whirlwind for page after page until the perfect end. Then you breathe and realize it really was that good.
