Description

Lizzie Medina went to London to reinvent herself. Tired of being the quiet baby sister, and in no hurry to settle into a boring existence in surburbia, she escapes from home at the first opportunity. When she settles in London for a year of post-graduate studies, Lizzie is sure she’ll be able to start a whole new life. Immerse herself in the books she loves. Explore a new country. Work on her dream of writing a novel. She might even be able to find a little bit of excitement for once.
But falling unexpectedly in love with up-and-coming actor Thomas Harper causes Lizzie to re-think… everything. Just as she’s convinced herself this small-town girl from the Midwest can handle this great adventure, Thomas’s career suddenly explodes to superstar levels, and Lizzie finds herself forced to navigate the fame game of red carpets, catty co-stars, gossip magazines, and paparazzi. When she wished for a new life, she had no idea it would be anything like this!
Lizzie must now determine if her love—and her confidence—are strong enough to get her through the complications of dating a movie star. Even if she and Thomas are able to pull through before she has to leave London, how will she deal with the inevitability of returning to a life at home that no longer feels like her own? Will she follow her family’s wishes or follow her heart? Will the Lizzie she discovered in London be strong enough to help her pursue her dreams?

Enjoyed the story until I ran into the f____ word. Don't know why authors feel they have to ruin books with bad language.

Here's the thing... I like it, please don't misunderstand me there; it's captivating, enjoyable, the romance is cute but there's not substance. There's nothing to it, it's the stereotypical love story made simple by filling pages with mindless cliche's and pages and pages of description that don't really move the story along. I want detail about how the character's feel when they kiss or when they touch. I want to know what they're wearing, how they look in it. Description about Important things, things that keep the story going.

honestly when I'm reading the reviews some people are complaining about Lizzie being annoying and she annoyed me a bit but that's the point because if she had just given in this story wouldn't have been as interesting and there are so many little factors that make this book so real and amazing, yeah sure it's kinda teen but honestly who doesn't love to be a little teen anyways and it's not like she's that old plus she's not just some average 23 year old who goes out and hooks up with guys and that's ok, but anyways overall I thought this book was really real and amazing and I loved the way she had the problem with standing up to her parents, I understand her.

The book is written well. My low rating isn't for typographical or grammatical errors. This book is technically very good. That being said, I could not find myself to finish it. This book is every thirteen year old girls dream come true. Lizzie's character should not have been a day older than sixteen. However, she was written with a 12 year old mindset in a graduate student body. I am on the verge of a diabetic coma from how overwhelmingly sweet this story is.

I loved this sweet romance! It was witty, thoughtful and heartwarming. The themes of love, loyalty for family, and the pull to follow your own heart made the story relatable and endearing. It is a well done story of a young women exploring her own identity. The character development was so engaging it made it hard to put it down - I was so eager to see the kind of person Lizzy decides she is. I loved that there were no steamy sex scenes to detract from the larger story. It's lovely to read a descriptive, charming story that explores how the world can still hold some good and purity, even while jaded and image-driven attitudes abound.
