Description

A blind date, a gorgeous vampire, and a deadly assassin.

Just a typical Friday night.

Yesterday, my biggest problems were fighting with my sister and getting into my dream college. Today, I'm dealing with destructive new powers and a raging thirst for blood—and both are getting me into serious trouble.

I never believed in the supernatural, but now I can't escape it. I've tried everything to distract myself from the bundle of weird events that is ruining my life, including a blind date with a drop-dead gorgeous guy. Turns out he's a vampire and knows more about my past than I do, including the assassin who has marked me for death.

I thought becoming a blood-sucking child of the night would make me immortal… turns out it just made me a target. With a trained killer after me, I might actually have to trust the know-it-all vampire to help me unlock my powers, before one of us ends up permanently dead.

I read the sample of betrayal and I was kinda mad. Why’d she have to pick cliff. I wanted her to pick tanner. He’s closer to her age and nicer than cliff. I understand why she chose cliff but why couldn’t she get both.

I love how you brought everything in. I did see some moss wording but it did not diminish how I loved the story.

Okay so I’m my opinion, I would not recommend this to a reader. Coming from a younger author that is just starting I do feel like I know a couple things to help with this book. First of all I wished the book had a theme or an undeniable drive for Alexis and the rest of the characters. I mean there was a beginning, middle, and end, but Alexis had no personal problem with really anything. She had no growth to her as a character which is especially important to have in a story like this because SPOILER: she turns into a creature of a sort that requires needed development. I won’t get into everything but not my personal favorite

I wasn’t able to get past the first chapter. The sentences are short and choppy, the characters don’t have descriptions or personality. The dialog between characters feels like a middle schooler wrote it. I really really really wanted to love this book but I just can’t. The cover is beautiful though.

Recommend: No -Apologies to the Author, but the sentences were very difficult to get enraptured with the story. It seemed like it was a rough draft that hadn’t been edited.

I absolutely loved this book! I recently read all the books from her curse of the moon series & fell in love with the writings of Stacy Claflin ❤️ she has officially became one of my favorite authors. My ONLY complaint would be that there are some grammar mistakes in the book but it doesn’t take away from the story at all & you can easily tell what was meant! I can not wait to start the next one!!

What color was her house? Was her room small? What does she look like? When the light bulbs burst do the cringe at all? When she sneaks from her house, why and how? There’s nothing relatable in this character. The book is deadpan. Each paragraph is no more than 3 sentences long.

First of, I hated the spacing of the Ebook, and there were several pages that were blank as I was in mid-read. And I skipped through several pages that seemed unnecessary to read. I didn’t agree with how the story led up to the “big event”, and there were just a lot of loose ends that weren’t tied.

I absolutely loved this book!!!! Just to warn you, there is a cliffhanger at the end, but it is totally worth the read. This is probably the best book I’ve ever read, and it’s free!!! BTW, the other books aren’t. 😢🥺😔

i really enjoyed the plot and everything, but.....idk if it’s just me but i really don’t like love triangles. they just frustrate me! like why can’t there just be ONE guy that you like/love. other than that, it was a very well written story.
  • Good plot

The plot was enough for me to want to finish the book, unfortunately I found myself editing the authors wording (not grammar). I felt like I was reading a rough draft, or a high school English assignment. The relationships weren’t convincing, and words like “very” were so overused I found myself rereading sentences edited with synonyms, or rewriting entire paragraphs.
  • Might be good for younger readera

I honestly couldn’t finish. I tried because it seemed like an interesting plot but The writing seemed dumbed down and I actually found a bunch of errors. If you enjoy a girl just going blindly along with things just happening to her you might like this book.

Was expecting more. This was written in passive voice. Lacked active voice. Felt like I was reading the diary of a teenage girl retelling events not actively living it. For the hype, I was disappointed. It's just ok.

I wish I’d seen more of the negative reviews before downloading but the positive ones along with “best selling author” impressed me, but what I’ve read of this book has not. Mostly dialogue with little description or feeling. Very poor transition from one scene to the next. The plot is slow to develop, which isn’t always a bad thing, but when there is no character development either then there is nothing to entice the reader to keep going.
