Description
NATIONAL BESTSELLER • Humanity is under assault by malevolent “antimemes”—ideas that attack memory, identity, and the fabric of reality itself—in this whip-smart tale of science-fiction horror, an entirely reimagined and expanded version of the beloved online novel.
“Utterly brilliant . . . a dazzling, confusing novel with a highly effective, creeping sense of dread . . . I can’t recommend it enough.”—Charlie Jane Anders, The Washington Post
“[An] unforgettable, mind-bendingly brilliant novel.”—The Guardian
They’re all around us, hiding in plain sight.
One could be in the room with you now, just to your left. You could be seeing it right now—but from this second to the next, you’ll forget that you did. If you managed to jot down a note, the paper would look blank to you afterward.
These entities can feed on your most cherished memories, the things that make you you—and you’ll never even know anything changed.
They can turn you into a living ghost—make it so you’re standing next to your spouse, screaming in their ear, and they won’t know you’re there.
They’re predators equipped with the ultimate camouflage, living black holes for information, able to consume our very memories of their existence.
And they aren’t just feeding on us. They’re invading.
But how do you fight an enemy when you can never even know that you’re at war? How do you contain something you can’t record or remember?
Welcome to the Antimemetics Division.
No, this is not your first day.

Amazing ideas, rough finale
4By absolutevirtueLoved the ideas put forward and how they explored some of them. Characterization was a bit weak and sometimes hard to tell if the author is describing something that’s actually happening or just figuratively. I was pretty enthralled up until the last 50ish pages where it builds up to something I can only describe as unsatisfying. It gets a little too conceptual whereas I think the rest of the book does a great job of walking that tight rope. All in all still a worthwhile read, makes me wish it was a trilogy or something because I think there’s a lot of great ideas within that we could use more time with.An utter delight
5By E430dougThis is in a incredible feat of speculative fiction. The ideas are compelling and the author does a wonderful job of telling them while exploring them. The character dialogue is a true joy to read.Wow!
5By beans-72This book is fascinating and terrifying!Imagine if there are people, places and things that we don’t see but can see us. If you are a sci-fi fan then you need to read this one of a kind book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Awesome read!
5By CcbhvbThis was awesome!!!!Mind blowing
5By hungri-yetiI really enjoyed it. It struck me as SCP-related and that was confirmed when I read the author's note at the end. Really interesting ideas, loved it!I’m remembered, therefore I am?
5By AmeReaderEach chapter of the book was purposeful and exciting making it difficult to put down. The science fiction aspect was fairly soft and abstract which made it easy not to get hung up on minor details.Excellent!
5By vgnpt🤯💯Memescifistic
5By FrancoocnarnfI don’t remember enough details, just enough to know that membering was integral to its plot of humans as idea spaces.Wow. Just wow.
5By Me468954Hard to describe this book, but I read it in one sitting; couldn’t put it down.Really long scp scenario
2By Benaiah PenielIf I hadn’t read a scifi book in a few months maybe its ok but as it was i had just read an Asimov book and this just felt like such 8th grade writing. It was ok but at no point could I immerse. Spend your 10$ on a gpt sub and make your own book.
