Description
Shorebirds, including sandpipers, plovers and their allies, are a diverse group of birds usually found along coastlines and in wetland environments. Their mottled, earth-toned plumage provides excellent camouflage, helping these birds blend into their shoreline habitats. Such camouflage is great for protection from predators but somewhat frustrating for bird enthusiasts hoping to catch a glimpse of these appealing little birds.
