Description
THE FIRST BOOK OF THE SURRENDER TRILOGY
In her sensational Breathless Trilogy, #1 New York Times bestselling author Maya Banks tested the boundaries of desire. In her new trilogy, there’s only one thing left to do: cross them. And never have the consequences of erotic exploration been so irresistibly inviting, so shockingly intimate, and so totally unexpected…
LETTING GO
Josslyn found perfection once, and she knows she’ll never find it again. Now widowed, she seeks the one thing her beloved husband couldn’t give her: dominance. Lonely, searching for an outlet for her grief and wanting only a brief taste of the perfection she once enjoyed, she seeks what she’s looking for at an exclusive club that caters to people indulging in their most hedonistic fantasies. She never imagined that what she’d find would be the one man who’s long been a source of comfort—and secret longing. Her husband’s best friend.
Dash has lived in an untenable position for years: in love with his best friend’s wife but unwilling to act on that attraction. He’d never betray his best friend. And so he’s waited in the wings, offering Joss unconditional support and comfort as she works past her grief, hoping for the day when he can offer her more.
When he finds her in a club devoted to the darker edges of desire, he’s furious because he thinks she has no idea what she’s getting herself into. Until she explains in detail what it is she wants. What she needs. As realization sets in, he is gripped by fierce, unwavering determination. If she wants dominance, he is the only man who will introduce her to that world. He is the only man who will touch her, cherish her…love her. And the only man she’ll ever submit to.
Reviews
Disappointed
2By Hph144First 87 pages, so pitiful... apologies, placating, blah blah bluckOK
3By PattiA810Good base storyline, Joss is a widow and her husband's best friend, Dash has been in love with her forever. A relationship develops between the two which, is unlike the one Joss had with her husband. Dash shows Joss a whole new BDSM world. Unfortunately, there is so much redundancy with thoughts and dialogue that it would have been better as a shorter book instead of stretching it out.Too much repetitive pondering
1By thismanmustbestoppedHalf of this book is the characters endlessly musing to themselves about how much they need to be dominant or submissive, how much they need each other, their emotional status, etc. Then another quarter of the book is them repetitively saying these thoughts to each other and to their friends. It easily could have been 150 pages instead of 400 and had the same impact. I really resented paying $10 for this book and won’t be buying anything else from this author.A on my desk

2By TLS1!Too much writing about thoughts and feelings without a good plot and dialogue between characters. Sex scenes hot, but nothing to pull it together. Boring, did not finish the book.Giving in
5By SandyGG65I loved this book, the storyline is very believable and offers a delicate balance for all the characters. I loved how the characters were allowed to make mistakes and truly feel real and human; finally i loved the ending, because I'm a sucker for a happy ending, at times things were a bit predictable, but i still enjoyed the predictable aspects as they demonstrate the nature of people, loved the book- thanks for a great read. aspecrsWasted time
1By Tiff54I couldn't get half way through this book. Very repetitive, slow, and boring. Don't waste your time.Loved loved loved it!!!!!!
5By aduesyGreat book! Can't wait till I read the rest of the books.Woohoo.. bravo
5By MelissaNY666This was a fabulous book. Maya Banks is a writer that uses each word to grab your heart and soul. With reading the last page first, you will never know where the story with take you. This GREAT Write has your heart from begin to end, leaving you wanting more from your soul.Waste of Time and Money
1By SmutReader2014Do not waste your time with this. They spend more time talking about sex than actually having it. The build up is slow and the writing is horrible. Who talks about sex with their dead husband when another man is on top of them?Unbelievably boring
2By PenJoyI love this author ... what in the world, how is this possibly her work, reads like one of her amateur flunkies. It's almost excruciating to read. I normally can't put a book down, now I barely want to pick it up. Don't waste your money!Simple words from an avid reader.
3By Cricket@lawThe second half of this book was much better than the first. But thus far I have enjoyed other series that Banks has written much better.Repeat
1By What...Haven't you herd???Such a slow start to this book. It is very repetitive and the characters keep having the same conversations and same thoughts. I'm 10 chapters in and I still don't feel like the book has really started. Was really looking forward to this book but now I don't know if I can finish it.Love it
4By Asil239Great book!Couldn't finish it
1By Kt_rx_grlThe conversations between characters were long and drawn out. Not realistic at all. The first few chapters were great but as I continued reading I quickly lost interest.Loved
5By Daboss1222Beautiful love story I couldn't put it down everyone should read this novel. A touching story of true love twice in a lifetime.Sad
1By wiilbotxI loved loved loved the Breathless triolgy and was SO excited about this book!! Let's just say I'm highly disappointed and couldn't get past Chapter 6 it was so boring and I hate that i can't get a refund.Wow
1By Adele is awesomeI give this book 1 star, only because I love her other work. So disappointing. This was one of the worst books I have ever purchased. Repetitive, is an understatement. 500 pages in, and it was still repeating the 1st chapter. I love Maya, and have enjoyed reading her books, but this one was ridiculously boring, and slow paced.Tame and drags on
2By CedenosThe whole thing was a let down. It drags on ... and on ... and on. Not what I have come to expect from a MB novel. I am def not going to pre-purchase this series. Decent d/s but far too contrived and randomly scattered. Neither character made me want to see them together. I kept starting and stopping this book. Get it from the library.
