Description
Eddie is a wounded war veteran, an old man who has lived, in his mind, an uninspired life. His job is fixing rides at a seaside amusement park. On his 83rd birthday, a tragic accident kills him, as he tries to save a little girl from a falling cart. He awakes in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven is not a destination. It's a place where your life is explained to you by five people, some of whom you knew, others who may have been strangers. One by one, from childhood to soldier to old age, Eddie's five people revisit their connections to him on earth, illuminating the mysteries of his "meaningless" life, and revealing the haunting secret behind the eternal question: "Why was I here?"

5By Mommy of 3 Handsome NuggetsWhat I appreciated most from this moving literature is the opportunity to think outside my own being and limited perspective. I was moved through each chapter to consider the experiences and emotions of others and further to look upward towards heavenly pursuits. I have already recommended this book to 5+ friends.Makes your heart stop
5By MaddieerinxoxoAbsolutely breathtaking. I found it incredibly difficult to put down. I am not a religious person so this authors vision of heaven is absolutely beautiful. No religions are talked about - just a beautiful interpretation of heaven and coming home. Before I even finished the book I was telling everyone about it. Goosebumps. Tears. Heartache. Laughter. Love. You feel everything so deeply. Just beautiful.Very important lesson
