This book, her prose, it touched me. I can’t say that any other authors have done that in a long time. Tarryn Fisher made me hurt, feel, hope. Turned my emotions inside out. When you come away with a new perspective, that makes a great story.

I tried starting this book over a year ago and I couldn’t quite get into it. I decided that I was finally in the right place to try again and wow. It hit my heart like you wouldn’t believe. I’m a believer that things come your way when you need them, and I definitely needed to read this book at this point in my life. I highly recommend giving this a try...and if you can’t get into it now, come back to it later when you’re ready. You won’t regret it.

Dear Tarryn. The words, the words. I get lost in your words. The pages, the pages. I had to keep turning. I didn't figure it out, and I kinda like that. Keeps it more interesting. Thank you for a beautiful book. I loved it when I read it and I love it now.

I never thought a book could be both depressing and uplifting at the same time. Tarryn Fisher has quickly become my new favorite author. I read 2 of her books back to back in 72 hours and can't wait to read the rest. I have yet to know another author who can convey similar characters yet depict them with two entirely opposite tones. F*ck love was witty and light; I burst out with laughter a few times. While Mud Vein (my favorite of the 2) was dark and gloomy; entrapped with fear, and tears, hope and even love. LOVE LOVE LOVE her and this book!!!!

It's absolutely fascinating to read because I have no idea what's going on. Isaac could be the reason why they are both their or it could be a fan. It does not matter. What matters is the bond that is forming between these two characters. It's puzzling and intriguing. It's like nothing I've ever read before. Wow! The second part of the story is so sad. Senna had a very tragic past that intersected with Isaacs. He was there for her during a difficult part of her life. So much emotion. This story gets you thinking. You can't turn your brain off. It's empowering. I love the back word style of writing. The story starts with where they end up then goes back to how they met and before they met. There is so much power written in the words of this story and so much to interpret. You can go in so many different directions with your mind. Their is no right or wrong answer for how you interpret the words. This story takes a hold of your heart and mind and possess your soul. I could not stop thinking about it even when I was finished reading it. I love a good mind puzzle. It was brilliantly written and I appreciate the amount of time spent writing it. I found it flawless. I love a dark mind in a colorful world.

This book was not what I expected. Very deep and emotional. I agree the ending was not what I expected it to be. I can't describe the feeling it left for me when I finished it. I can't say I loved the book nor hated it. It was very very different than I am used to reading. Well written but disturbing all at the same time.

The writing in this book is amazing but the story came up empty for me. I was just expecting a different ending. Maybe an explanation of some sort. The cover is odd too.

Tarryn Fisher, I give you five heart wrenching, soul devouring stars for Mud Vein. I don't know how you do what you do, but never stop. Your writing has a way of making people think. You're gorgeously brilliant and I hope that you never change who you are. It makes you, you. I've been waiting for Mud Vein for what seems like a hundred years, and would have waited a hundred more. This book struck a nerve with me more than any other book has, and I know the experience I had reading it will stay with me forever. It brought the real, gritty reality nobody seems to want to read about, and threw it in your face. My advice (and some many others will say this too) to you is to truly go into this book blind. The blurb is enough to catch you and plant that little seed in your brain to read it. If you've ever read one of Tarryn's books and loved it, I have no doubt in my mind that you will love this one as well, if not more. There's too much risk going into it that you will spoil it for yourself. This book deserves to be read with an open heart and mind, and will truly change the way you see yourself. Bravo Tarryn. You've done it again, and I know that you will just knock this one out of the park with your next book, because that's just who you are.
