Description

New school. New friendships. New life.

Not so much.

Alexandra is pissed about her parents abandoning her. She's beyond pissed that her friends did the same. She's enraged because things are unclear about her brother's death now. So her first stop is at Jesse's house to demand answers. She wants to know why her brother was friends with the criminal crowd before he died and she knows he holds the answers. But when she sees him, she doesn't get the answers she expected. Instead, she finds out that their chemistry never faded and soon heats up again!

Some habits die hard. Soon Jesse and Alex are back to their ways of sneaking around. He's a near-celebrity at school and she doesn't want to deal with the backlash of being his girlfriend. Alex is tired of being hurt so she's learned the lesson not to confide and lean on others. However, she can't seem to help herself when it comes to Jesse Hunt. The big question isn't if she will survive if their relationship goes public, it's if she will survive when the real truths about her family and brother come out? Or when she learns that Jesse knows more than what he's told her?

The story was good. Not what was expected which is a nice surprise. I really liked the characters. Only problem was there were several spelling/grammar issues. Writer needs a more thorough editor
  • A little better then the first

There were a lot of parts that repeated and felt it dragged...and at some points got irritated with the main character...like you can’t be that oblivious to how he was feeling about you. And for people being in collage it was definitely more high school banter and dynamic. Not horrible but very anti climatic....once you found out what happened to her brother it was a bit like that’s it!?! Sad yes but not worth all the build up.
  • Suitable for high school girls.

It's unfortunate that this story revolves around high schoolers because this story would have had better potential not including high school students. The teenage banter of jealousy and ribbing is boring. This story is appropriate for the young adults. Once again I'm disappointed that these authors choose to write in this manner. I am not a fan of disrespecting parents by hurting their children. In this case losing one to an accident and then ignoring the other. This sense of abandonment is atrocious regarding her parents. The story is all over the place with how these people grieve the loss of someone close. I am not in agreement with Alex using sex as a means for grieving. Tijan likes to create a little too much drama. If these young girls were more mature they would handle this situation differently. Alex's character is so overdramatic. The story ends abruptly with no closure just complaining from Alex and pity for her. This story was too long with the constant drama of abandonment and disappointment from Jesse and Alex's parents. This story could have been tied up into one book leaving out the high school drama of who is dating who and who is ribbing who. Alex is a weak and unstable character and Jesse is too caught up in his own self gratification that he does comprehend how abusive his behavior is for Alex and himself.
