CAPTURED BY A LAIRD
Haunted by his father's violent death, David Hume, the new laird of Wedderburn, sets out to make his name so feared that no one will dare harm his family again. The treacherous ally who played on his father's weakness is dead and beyond David's vengeance, but his castle and young widow are ripe for the taking. The moment David lays eyes on the dark-haired beauty defending her wee daughters, however, he knows this frail-looking lass is the one person who could bring him to his knees.
Wed at thirteen to a man who tried daily to break her spirit, Lady Alison Douglas is looking forward to a long widowhood. But when the fearsome warrior known as the Beast of Wedderburn storms her gates, she finds herself, once again, forced to wed a stranger. Alison is only a pawn to serve his vengeance, so why does this dark warrior arouse such fiery passion and an unwelcome longing in her heart?
With death and danger looming, these two wounded souls must learn to trust each other...for only love can save them.
Reviews
Full of romance and intrigue
1By Ctaylor132The characters really came to life. Lots of twists and turns made this a very enjoyable read. Looking forward to reading more from this author! So called loyalty
1By straighttalker198He asks for loyalty yet gives none to her. He forces her into marriage, weds off his stepdaughters to his brothers, uses alison and her daughters as pawns to get revenge, withholds information cause he never trusted her only until “she’s with child maybe he’d began to trust her” and asks for loyalty. The idiocy of this guy and his brothers is ridiculous 🤬🤬🤬👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎Fun read

5By JWOOD1795If you love a strong warrior that will do anything for the people he loves and a spirited lady, this is a must read. Author did a excellent job writing this book. Can't wait to read next story.History
5By math wizardI throughly enjoyed this book! It is well written and the characters are well developed! As the castle is sieged, Alison meets the beast , David Hume, and does not want to marry him but it is the best for her daughters. Her relationship to the crown of Scotland is through her brother Archie who is wed to the queen. Lots of twists and politics involved but there is plenty of action, romance and even some humor.Great book!
5By Mary's 65Had a hard time putting it down!Really loved this book
5By RedBCKCThe characters weren't so endearing and I loved the story line and each character. Every character was so realistic and loving that you wanted to know each of their stories. Plus it had a nice ending without leaving you hanging which is my favorite kindCaptured by the laird
5By roxanna67I loved it! I couldn’t put my phone down👎
1By Alexa_me99The description of the book sounded good, but the actual book didn't deliver. I tried to like the main characters, I just couldn't. The heroine was naive and childish, and the male character was supposed to be this alpha male, but ended up being more of a dog waiting for scraps from the heroine.... I see the book has good reviews, but in my opinion, I wouldn't recommend it.Love it! Could not put it down!
5By KimmieburThis was a great book that kept me up til after 2am. I look forward to the rest of the series.Mallory does it again!
5By Klight62Margaret Mallory has done it again! You just have to love her feisty heroines who never back down in an argument even though you really think they should and her drop dead, gorgeous, Heroes clad in kilt and wielding swords like I wield a spatula. The first book of her new series is beautiful, sexy and thrilling! Can't wait for number two!!Book1
