Description

A follow-up to “The Yukon Adventure 2004,” also available in the bookstore, this picture and prose book is a detailed travelogue of the journey of six people on the Yukon River from Whitehorse to Dawson City in the Yukon Territory of Canada. For three of them, it is a tenth anniversary trip, a repeat of the 2004 trip. The others are first-timers to the Yukon. They travel down the river in an eclectic mix of crafts: a canoe, a rubber raft, and a drift boat. They spend time fishing, floating, and watching for wildlife. They had been expecting solitude but end up meeting a number of characters on the river. The trip turns out to be wetter and colder than they had expected, a rough and wild Lake Laberge almost claims a couple of their boats, they come to the aid of some ailing Yukon River Quest racers, and one of the party becomes extremely ill. The trip lasts for three weeks on the early summer of 2014.

There are over 900 clickable and zoomable pictures embedded with the text. The pictures bring the trip to life and let you experience the challenges and successes of the party along with them. All but two pages have at least one picture, and most have three to six embedded pictures.
