Description

From the author of the twenty-five-million-copy bestseller The Shack comes a captivating new novel destined to be one of the most talked-about books of the decade.

Eve is a bold, unprecedented exploration of the Creation narrative, true to the original texts and centuries of scholarship—yet with breathtaking discoveries that challenge traditional beliefs about who we are and how we’re made. Eve opens a refreshing conversation about the equality of men and women within the context of our beginnings, helping us see each other as our Creator does—complete, unique, and not constrained by cultural rules or limitations.

When a shipping container washes ashore on an island between our world and the next, John the Collector finds a young woman inside—broken, frozen, and barely alive. With the aid of Healers and Scholars, John oversees her recovery and soon discovers that her genetic code connects her to every known race. No one would guess what her survival will mean…

No one but Eve, Mother of the Living, who calls her “daughter” and invites her to witness the truth about her own story—indeed, the truth about us all.

As The Shack awakened readers to a personal, non-religious understanding of God, Eve will free us from faulty interpretations that have corrupted human relationships since the Garden of Eden.

Thoroughly researched and exquisitely written, Eve is a masterpiece that will inspire readers for generations to come.

Loved this book, just as I did The Shack. The story provides a new and unique perspective to the story of creation. Couldn't put it down!

So disappointed in this book. I felt so confused. It was disjointed and took way to long to tie it all together. It wasn't really about EVE. There were a few points that were interesting but didn't develop into anything.

This book is so profoundly moving. The way Young takes a story we all know and revives it to remind us of a truth we all should know is amazing. The C.S. Lewis of our generation! Well written and incredibly inspiring. You won't regret reading this one! I thought nothing would ever be as good as The Shake but Young really outdid himself. My new favorite book!

Since I love The Shack, I bought Eve. The story was different from the creation story I was used to, but being open minded, I read on. I broke alongside Lily, and word by word, found myself being pieced back together, again. At the end of the book, I desired a deeper relationship with God, and realized how cruel I can be to myself. Truly inspiring!

This one wasn't as entertaining or inspiring of thought as I found reading The Shack. I doubt I'd recommend this one at all.

Wow! After reading this epic novel I sit reeling with tear in my eyes. Having read both The Shack and Cross Roads I've become a huge fan of Wm. Paul Young's novels. Eve is no exception. After reading the synopsis I was highly intrigued. Eve exceeded all my expectations! It is novel that both touches and teaches. The story is one the most people will be familiar with. It focuses on "The Creation", "Genesis" or more simply the story or Adam and Eve. However, in this version we meet Lilly who is far from perfect and in many ways is just as human as all of us. Through Lilly's journey Young uses Lilly's character to explore thoughts, ideas, and revelations in a way that are stark, provoking, and astounding. Young allows us to go on our own journey through Lilly's. We are asked questions and made to consider our own relationships and individual walks through life. While Eve does possess religious overtones I appreciate that it encourages and allows questions without becoming "preachy." It also allows the reader to form a dialogue and make their own opinions. Although some will find Eve controversial or flawed. I believe Wm. Paul Young has once again written a very powerful, fascinating, provoking, intriguing, and truly beautiful novel that touches the heart, and will stay with readers for a long time! Congrats. Highly Recommended!!

Amazing! He did it again! Young has opened up a whole new way to look at "the Fall." And by doing so, open up new possibilities as to how it impacts my life - here and now, my perceptions and preconceived notions of My relationship to God and to others. I actually want to read it again!! So good - just like The Shack - but totally different. Thank you Mr. Young, thank you.

Love the re-turning and face to face concepts. Have no problem with creation story retelling. Conclusion was weak and frustrating. Should have ended book before John went on. Ending made the book corny paperback storytelling.

Another fantastic book by Paul! It matches (or surpasses) the level of deep spiritual meaning that the Shack and Crossroads had. Eve is a great perspective on the Garden of Eden and the falling/restoration of a soul.

I admit, I found the book a bit strange at first, but as I got into the story, I became hooked. This is a must read for any book enthusiast, with a bit of a surprise ending (at least for me, anyway). If you enjoyed 'The Shack', you'll love this just as much.
  • Advanced Read

I was given the privilege of an advanced manuscript read. There is a tremendous amount of theology to ponder in "Eve." But, as in "The Shack", it is wrapped in beautiful, emotionally rich story. For those that want to debate and explore the theology there will be plenty to discuss. For those on a personal healing journey "Eve" will be your guide through the depths of brokenness and re-turning to discover your true identity. Either way, this is a book you will be reading over and over again. For those who just want accessible story and interesting characters, you will not be disappointed. Order now and enjoy the anticipation of a great read.
