Description

Allison O'Malley's plan is to go to grad school so she can get a good job and take care of her schizophrenic mother. She has carefully closed herself off from everything else, including a relationship with Ethan, who she's been in love with for as long as she can remember.

What is definitely not part of the plan is the return of her long-lost father, who claims he can bring Allison's mother back from the dark place her mind has gone. Allison doesn't trust her father, so why would she believe his fairy tale about a long forgotten Irish people, the Tuatha de Danaan? But truths have a way of revealing themselves. Secrets will eventually surface. And Allison must learn to set aside her plan and work with her father if there is even a small chance it could restore her mother's sanity.

This story had potential but was all over the place. Ended on a cliff hanger, very disappointing to end that way.

I thoroughly enjoyed Allison’s ability to be true to herself and to rise to the challenges she faced. Coming to terms with altered reality, amongst the myriad of challenges she faced would be the undoing of someone of less character. She is determined, brave, authentic and likable. I can’t wait to continue reading this series!

This was free, right? 🤔 I don't see a price, so I will just assume... Lol I haven't actually started reading it yet.

I enjoyed the story, however, the typos and misuse of words was quite distracting.

this book would have been much better without the fantasy aspect. having a antisocial girl and her complicated life with her father, love life and mother's conditions would have been a good enough story for me. the moment the magic and dreams were introduced, i was pretty turned off.
