Description

Jaime Primak Sullivan, outspoken star of Bravo TV’s Jersey Belle, offers no-nonsense Southern-spun advice for navigating life and love with her signature charismatic Jersey charm in this winning fish-out-of-water tale.

Jamie Primak Sullivan, a Jersey-bred, tough-as-nails PR maven—and unlikely transplant in an upscale suburb of Birmingham, Alabama—has spent her entire life crossing the line: whether she’s pushing the boundaries of what proper Southern ladies consider to be “polite behavior” or literally traversing the Mason-Dixon line in the name of love. She isn’t afraid to say what everyone is thinking when it comes to love, sex, friendship, and many other topics that are all-too-often sugar-coated in polite Southern company. But when a meet-cute scenario right out of a Nora Ephron movie upends her life, Jaime finds herself a reluctant “knish out of water,” smack-dab in the Deep South starting a life with her new husband, the perfect Southern gentleman.

In The Southern Education of a Jersey Girl, Jaime shares hard-learned lessons on Southern etiquette, deep-fried foods, college football, and matters of the heart while living in the heart of Dixie, with her quintessential ball-busting, bullsh*t free, and side-splitting Jersey twist.

Entertaining and Jaime's hilarity keeps you turning the pages. Refreshingly authentic and it is always a good thing if you can be fortunate in your life to cross paths with an individual who allows you to be real and raw and not conforming to make yourself acceptable to be loved. Jaime is allowed to be Jaime and her belles be who they are and allow Jaime to be who she. She shows us that enriching relationships are risks worth taking and we are better when we have them.

You can take the girl out of Jersey but you can't take the Jersey out of the girl! Navigating the prim & proper "Southern Belle" world of Alabama when you were born and raised in New Jersey takes a special kind of talent. Jaime has that talent (and patience) in spades. Thanks so much Jaime for always "telling it like it is" and keeping it real. Your passion is infectious. I loved your book and can't wait for your new comedy show.

I was hesitant at first to download this one but no more!! Finally reading a book I can relate too!! Being from NJ myself, born and raised, but now living in Alabama, it's my cup of sweet tea!!! I love Jaime's sense of humor and how she describes every situation in her life. Also love Chapter 11 about her experience with her faith. Overall just loving it!!!

Jaime's honesty, self awareness, wittiness, grittiness and authenticity shines through in this story. Reading is an invitation into her mind and soul where she shares her intimate thoughts, experiences and tribulations. This is not just a book about a woman moving from the city to the south. It is a book about what it is to be human, to create the life you want regardless of where you are, and sometimes to let go of the steering wheel and get out of your own way!
