Description

Broken hearts aren't always broken. Sometimes they're just bruised.

Hoping to forget about her worthless ex-boyfriend - not to mention the humiliating way in which they parted - Martha sets out on a hike taking in the dramatic scenery of the English Lake District.

But as she picks her way across a set of ancient stepping stones, disaster strikes. One false step sends Martha plunging head first into an angry river.

Time Travel. Sideways.

She wakes up in a cave, wearing nothing but her dodgy, mismatched underwear, and her only company is that of the strange man who saved her life.

Tall, dark, and extremely handsome, Vadim certainly has the potential to help Martha forget a lot of things, especially that treacherous louse Tony!

But this isn't the twenty-first century, and medieval Erde is nothing like home!

If she's to have any hope of fitting in, Martha's going to need help, and lots of it! Vadim offers her his protection, but it comes at a price.

If Martha wants his aid she'll have to pretend to be his wife!

Vadim is a wanted man. An outlaw.

The last thing his life needs are complications of the female kind. But when he finds the strange woman lying beside the river he cannot abandon her. Despite the risks, and against all of his better judgment, Vadim offers to help Martha find a way home.

Can Martha adapt to life in a medieval society? Can she avoid the Evil Earl and his minions? And, more importantly, will she find the courage to trust her heart again?

(Please note! This book is NOT a standalone. Please steer clear if cliffy endings aren't your thing!)

Great time travel romance book. Keeps you on the edge of your seat.
  • Fecking unoriginal

There is some talent here. However, not only does the author show an extreme lack of research into the supposed era in which the story is set, she borrows heavily from Outlander as will be obvious to fans of Gabaldon’s work. Words such as uppen and quickenen indicate a lack of editing as well. This story ends in a cliffhanger. Good thing it was free as I will not be wasting money on the sequels.

I found this delightful book on Apple Books, it was free as first in a series. I absolutely could not put it down, and as soon as I am able I will purchase the remaining books in the series to find out what happens to Martha and Vadim.

I loved this storyline but I did not appreciate the abrupt ending. To continue the story and find out what happens I now have to buy another book!

What a great, unique book! The fantasy, the descriptions, the people, the humor and the love! I got to know so many characters. The heroine was an amazing woman who was strong and funny. And the hero was everything you’d want a hero to be plus hot! But the ending...! I’ll absolutely have to read the sequel!!

I disagree with the other reviews. The author keeps the specifics of time and location just vague enough for her purpose. The characters and their interactions are well constructed and interesting enough. I read this in one day and enjoyed it!
  • Try Outlander

So this book just by the sounds of it is a cheap knock off of Outlander.... Just by the sample I read I deleted it...
  • Boring and very badly researched

I tried to give this one a chance since the price was right, but the characters are dim and the author's knowledge of the time period is even dimmer. I give up.
