Description

A broken promise.
An unbreakable love.

The hardest thing Cody Wilde ever had to do was keep the promise he made to his dying father—stay away from trouble. Growing up in a rural Texas town and being bullied by the sheriff’s son made it nearly impossible to control the notorious Wilde temper. Only having his good friend, Cassie, and her family for support made the task bearable.

Cassie Strong never understood why people picked on Cody. He was sweet, sexy, and had a silly side that he showed only to her. When tragedy strikes her family, it’s Cody who is by her side and their friendship blossoms into something more.

But when Cody’s lifelong enemy threatens the one thing that could make him break his promise, will he risk losing Cassie or will he be strong enough to hold on to his father’s last wish?

From USA TODAY Bestselling Author L.G. Castillo comes a heart-wrenching small town romance about first love, broken promises, and holding on to love when all hope is lost.

The Strong & Wilde series is about Cassie and Cody who grew up together in a small Texas town. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning. Cassie and Cody became best friends and she never understood why the Baker boys constantly taunted him. The last thing that his father made him promise before he died, Cody struggled with. His father made him promise not to make the same mistakes he made from his Wilde temperament. He had gotten into fights and his father's request was for him to walk away and not to fight. Tragedy hits Cassie's family and her best friend Cody is there to help her through. After some time Cody begins to distance himself from Cassie hoping that will make Seth Baker lose interest in Cassie. He is trying to help by removing himself but that doesn't mean Seth will leave either of them alone. He is just plain nasty. I don't want to spoil the series by revealing too much. I really enjoyed reading this series because the characters of Cassie and Cody are easy to relate to and the ups and downs that happen in a relationship. Being in a small town nothing remains private and when the bullies of the town are the sons of the Sheriff then there is no use in reporting the Baker boys. The Apple didn't fall from the tree in this case. I recommend that you read this series because it is a great read that will keep you engaged the whole way through. There are some events that you will want to have your tissues handy. See what happens between these best friends and what lays in store for them. Find out if what doesn't kill them make them stronger as the saying goes!
