From USA Today bestselling authors Christina A. Burke & Elizabeth Ashby comes the first book in a multi-author series...

If these walls could talk...they'd scream murder.

Alex Jordan, owner of Finials and Facades Renovation and Restoration Services, has been living her dream of restoring Victorian-style homes in the town of Danger Cove. But her recent acquisition of the stately Marlton House has led to a showdown with the town real estate mogul, and now she needs to restore the old house and flip it before time runs out. But Alex gets more than she bargained for when a Hawaiian shirt-clad tourist with a bullet in his head turns up in the home's bathtub. Pairing up with unlikely partner and town florist, George Fontaine, Alex vows to solve the murder before her flip becomes a flop.

As Alex worries over deadlines, she stumbles across another body on the cliffs of Danger Cove. However, this "body" is a super-sexy man with amnesia...or so he says. Throw in a stash of stolen diamonds, a matchmaking grandmother, a foulmouthed parrot, and a mysterious killer with Alex in his sights, and Alex is in a race against the clock to salvage the job, solve the murder, and save her own life.

When Alex Jordan, the owner of Finials and Facades Renovation and Restoration Services, purchased a stately but rundown Victorian mansion in Danger Cove, she found one thing she couldn't fix—the dead guy in the clawfoot bathtub. As the police begin their hunt for the killer, Alex decides to do some sleuthing of her own. With a sexy but mysterious florist at her side, Alex goes steel toe to toe with a corrupt realtor, a six-pack-abbed amnesiac, and a colony of bats to salvage her investment and save her life. As a home-rehab-show fan and old movie buff, I had a lot of fun reading this mystery. I also loved meeting some of the residents of Danger Cove—especially that Alice. My personal favorite? The foul-mouthed parrot, hands (wings?) down.

I really, really enjoyed this book. It is a modernized whodunit. There are twists and turns. Suspense galore. Just when you know whodunit, think again. The scenery I envisioned was amazing from the Painted Lady to Rockgrove. There are funny moments and scary moments. I also enjoyed the chemistries. When you read this book, you'll understand. Get this book as soon as possible. It won't disappoint and it's a good fast read. Another winner. Keep them coming.

Great murder mystery that follows the adventure of of Alex a female contractor that restores vintage homes or " painted ladies" to their former glory. Alex discovers a dead body in a home she just purchased and must try to solve the crime before she is arrested. This is a great chick lit mystery that has moments of humor, romance, and suspense. It was a good story that was easy to get engaged in and get excited about. I would highly recommend this novel.
