Along the way he meets a Gypsy woman, a man who calls himself a king, and an alchemist, all of whom point Santiago in the direction of his quest. No one knows what the treasure is, or if Santiago will be able to surmount the obstacles in his path. “We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of infinity. Life is eternal. We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment. It is a little parenthesis in eternity.”—Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
“It changed my whole life. I realized all of the people who had conspired to get me to this place.” —Pharrell Williams, musician and songwriter

Beautiful
5By Steve1114567This story is so beautiful it was such a beautiful read and the story was so inspiring so happy I’ve read this bookwow!
5By 2chainsatthebeachThe Alchemist by Paulo Coelho is nothing short of extraordinary. This book is packed with timeless wisdom and beautiful spiritual messages that deeply resonated with me. At its core, it’s a story about listening to your heart, trusting in God, and having faith in the path that life lays before you—even when it’s uncertain. Reading this book made me feel lighter, more connected, and inspired to pursue my dreams with courage. It reminds you that the universe conspires in your favor when you truly desire something. The emphasis on gratitude, self-belief, and seeing the small details in life as signs—or omens—is profoundly moving. It encourages you to stay grounded in faith while also daring to chase what sets your soul on fire. This is more than just a story—it’s a spiritual experience. I highly recommend The Alchemist to anyone looking for clarity, hope, or a reminder that they are not alone on their journey. A true masterpiece that stays with you long after the last page.My go to read when in a storm
5By chanell sI read this book once a year. Anytime I’m going through a difficult time while pursuing my dreams I know it’s time to pick it up. I’m grateful God brought this book to life.Philosophical or Self Help?
3By FISHXMARKETI can see why it was revolutionary for its time, but overall it fell flat of life changing. Simple lessons unfold through out the story, and I was waiting for the ending to really speak to me but it was a let down. Ultimately, it feels like a disguised self help book rather than a philosophical journey.Must Read
5By Mr_SmashThis book was amazing. The pacing was great and all of the characters relatable. This is truly a book you’ll take something away from. Follow your heart!Amazing read
5By alipoochkaSo much to take from this book!A Transformative Journey of Self-Discovery
4By BenB1494Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist is a timeless masterpiece that speaks to the heart and soul. Through the journey of Santiago, a young shepherd in search of his Personal Legend, Coelho explores themes of destiny, dreams, and the pursuit of true happiness. The story, rich with wisdom, encourages readers to follow their hearts and trust in the signs life presents. The beautifully poetic prose combined with profound philosophical insights makes this book a life-changing read. The Alchemist is a perfect reminder that the answers we seek are often within us, waiting to be discovered.Wisdom 📈

5By pgth3godIf I had to encapsulate the book into one word it word it should be “Maktub”. You’ll understand what I mean once you open this beauty of a book. Take this as an omen to travel into the unknown that awaits you.A true classic
5By patri_blueA magical book that must be read at least once in a lifetime. And to those whom have read it, a favorite repeat read! Every time you read it, at different stages of your journey and life, a different lesson comes through that touches the heart and brightens your path.Overly simple and two-dimensional.
2By filmguyryanI had high hopes for this one as I had seen it on the reading lists of presidents and scholars. I’ll say this, it was a rapid read. The language, syntax, concepts were all so rudimentary that I hit the back cover before I knew it. There really are only a couple of “life lessons” to be gained by the text that the author hammers home many times over. In the end, there just wasn’t much here. A simple story of a simple man learning a simple lesson. This book would’ve been better in the form of an aspirational work poster.Love!
5By Lizzie0213Learned a lot from this book!Aspiring read
5By lynnex0627Words that will change you’re perspective and a voice that will change your thinking!3/5

4By MalyMal22This book was recommended to me by a few people and I dreaded it due to the bad reviews I’ve read. Then something in me said “Just Read It” (plus I saw it for $2.99) and I did… this was a great read and I’m shocked people had such negative reviews. I should’ve read this sooner!!!Good title
5By goooojoserI really enjoyed this book. When I started reading, it came about from a place of boredom, but I left feeling much more. This story focuses on the uncertainty of life, and how to embrace this to realize our dreams. I am currently at a point where everything is uncertain, and it gave me hope to continue, to take chances, and to find what it is I want to do in this world. It was an amazing read, I definitely recommend. The Alchemist
5By mayshaeI absolutely love this book!Lovely
3By adip20173.5 stars, I might come back and round up after I think about it more. This was so different than something I would normally pick up and was a needed change of pace. An inspiring story of enlightenment featuring a boy, the desert, and an alchemist. A message to follow your dreams and own path in life. I truly enjoyed the quick, lighthearted tale. “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting, he thought, as he looked again at the position of the sun”Loved it! New favorite!
5By pixiedustismagicBeautiful writing- it’s the kind of book that makes you feel as if you’ve visited a far off land- the writer pulls you right into Santiago’s world. Reminded me so much of The Little Prince, and instantly became a new favorite I will be reading again! I read it so fast I’m afraid I missed something.
