Description

A spicy second-chance hockey romance perfect for fans of Elle Kennedy.

Drafted by the NHL at eighteen, Jordan Garrison was headed for fame, and there was only one person he wanted to share it with--Jessie Caplan. He was crazy in love with her, and had finally told her so. They shared an amazing night . . . and then everything fell apart.

Jessie tries not to think about the night she gave herself to Jordan-or how he broke her heart. She tries not to think about it, but she does. Especially now, when she's staring into his sky-blue eyes for the first time in six years. After so much time and torment, she can't tell if she loves him or hates him. But Jordan has learned enough to know a connection like theirs is rare. He was lucky to find Jessie once. No way will he lose her again.

Good lord this book is terrible. Jordan and Jessie are immature and insecure from page 1 even until the last page. Neither are willing to fight for each other. One wrong look and they both bolt...over and over again. They never really work through their issues, they just sweep it under the rug. Jordan is a hockey player with absolutely no backbone and totally insecure, even in the epilogue. His grand gesture was buying flowers for Jessie and giving her friend (a puck bunny he slept with) tickets to a game. Also, tons of grammatical errors. Other characters in the book obviously being set up for their own books are equally insecure and immature. Hard pass.

Even between work and school I have read all 5 books in 5 days. The characters are so relatable and I just can't put them down!

I just feel like it was missing a climax. Kinda flat lined for me towards the end. But I enjoyed it.

Jordan and Jessica (Jesse) were best friends since the age of 8. They were totally inseparable growing up. After high school, getting ready for the draft, Jordan finally admits his love for Jesse. She spends the night with him and promises to try to move close for college to where he will be. With misunderstandings, people interfering, miscommunication, and so much more going wrong - they end up at opposite ends and hating one another. Jesse is hurt thinking he went back to his nosy ex-girlfriend. Jordan thinks she left him. And 6 years go by... Jesse's grandmother passes away, and the families come for the funeral. Because Jordan is injured and not playing - he has the time to go. He and Jesse see one another after so long and the chemistry ignites! They might say they hate, but the kiss says otherwise! After the funeral, while the dust settles, Jordan finds out that Jesse is living in his city. Seattle may be far from home, but he loves it and his team. She was never going to tell him since she was only there for an internship and not sure where she was going after. Now, he knows she is nearby and he tries a little subterfuge to see if he can light a candle in his old flame.... This story was just awesome! I loved the characters. I loved the banter, teasing, sincerity, fights, honesty, and so much more. I felt the characters emotions and fell in love with both their families. Such a good read. ***This ARC copy was given free from Netgalley.com and its publisher for review purposes. My honest opinion does not reflect Netgalley, nor its affiliates.
