Description

Harry Feversham is a British officer and a hero, who resigns from his commission when his regiment is deployed to Sudan to suppress an Arab uprising. With this act he ends the long line of military heroes in his family and faces and is considered as a coward by three of his fellow officers who give him three white feathers. The fourth feather he receives from his fiancée. From that moment the life he knew has changed completely.
Harry talks with Lieutenant Sutch, a friend of his father, who is an imposing retired general. He questions his own motives, but says he will redeem himself by acts that will convince his critics to take back the feathers.
Having nothing else to loose, he decides to go to Egypt in order to regain his reputation, to redeem his internal tyranny, but most of all to do things that will show those who underestimated him that he is not a coward.
After his arrival in Egypt, Harry disguises himself as a lunatic Greek musician and spends three years learning the languages spoken by the camel drivers. The adventures he experiences in Egypt are his way to feel brave and overcome the fear of being a coward.
What exactly will happen and what Harry intends to do in Egypt it is up to you to find out.
This book does not represent only a novel that tells a story of a man, but a book that explored the male redemption and the dangers men can expose themselves to, just to show the world their strength and bravery.
