Description

Juliette is perfectly content with her quiet nights at home alone, especially when they include sappy romcoms and Mr. Yu's Green Dragon takeout.

But her sisters think she's teetering on the brink of spinsterhood. So they've come up with an intervention plan: weekly blind dates until their Jules finds her knight in shining armor… or until they run out of single guy friends.

They're calling it The Monday ManDates.

Survival skills kicking in, Juliette secretly names each new Monday man. There's TheraPaul, Frisky Frank, and TAZ the Rock Star, for starters. Then there's the Officer Manly Man, the policeman with a penchant for pulling Juliette over when she's at her very worst.

With a lineup like that, positively identifying her happily-ever-after seems like a long shot.

Then again, maybe, just maybe, she's looking for love in all the wrong places.

  • Too preachy

I really tried to like this book. I was rooting for Juliette and would have loved to stay with the series long enough to enjoy Phoebe's book, but I could not get on board with the religious overtones. Ladies who read this book, please do not stay with a deadbeat guy just because you prayed over it and god told you to forgive him.

Becky Doughty is absolutely amazingly gifted with words and story telling. This is the first time I have read one of her books and I can't wait to devour them all! Reading Juliette's awakening and acceptance of who she is in Jesus's eyes as well as finding her Champion when she least expected it has awoken something deep in me as well. Her relationships with her sisters, neighbors and friends are beautifully flawed and full of grace. Doughty writes with wisdom, heartache and humor. I was crying and laughing out loud the whole way through. I wish that I could sit down and have a cup of coffee with the G-FOURce. Honestly I wish I could have a cup of coffee (or tea) with Becky Doughty! Thank you for speaking to me through your characters and renewing a passion in me to listen, be present and passionate in the lives of my family and in my Faith.
  • I don't have a title

The book was good and I wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next. I did not like the ending because it seems like you are in the middle of a scene, thought, or whatever and then it just said "The End". I honestly thought it was a joke. I also was irritated and almost stopped reading because there is some very inaccurate information in the book. When the main character is considering giving her life to Christ and becoming a Christian more than once the book says that God wants us to call him "husband". NO HE DOESN'T. We, Christians, are children of God. The Lord's Prayer which models how we are to pray says we are to call God FATHER! Not husband. The Bible also does not any where in any shape or form say we are to refer to Jesus as "husband" either. Other than that and the abrupt end I liked the book.

Only download this is you're VERY religious. I'm very spiritual and it was almost too much for me. Honestly, there's a lot of things that make me borderline uncomfortable with this book and it's disappointing to read. For example, they never addressed why Juliette just let Mike's actions slip under the rug - just chalked it up to forgiveness and "well girls always go for guys like that". Really sets a bad standard for any young girls reading.

A wonderfully written love story! Not your typical plot or characters. Juliette and her sisters are one-of-a-kind. An enjoyable read!!

I have always heard that forgiveness is not for the other person, it is for me. This book has a cute story about grace and forgiveness. Juliette is mad at God and does not know how to fix her broken life. Until she gives her life to God and she is able to put her life back together with his help. This book put a lot of things in perspective for me.
