A Long Way Up

So, this is the 5th in a series (the others are up on Facebook only), but you can easily start with this one. It's based on Maggie Lieu - an aspiring Martian - but is fiction of course. It's Launch T-2 Months and we follow Maggie physically and mentally as she prepares to leave earth on a one-way voyage to the red planet. I cram in as many facts as I possibly can, but also love to get into the mind of the character and write her very deep thoughts. You will laugh and you will cry. And to catch you up on the 1st 4 parts in this series, there has been a nuclear war in 2011 and 2012. Half of America, and the global population, has been wiped out. (So that's why there is more money to spend on space endeavours, rather than having it all go into defence). And Maggie Lieu meets the daughter of Eminem at the very start, btw. So, yeah, that happens. And she stays with her for a while. Expect a lot of feminist rap (because Hailie is just like her dad BUT she's a feminist) Cheers ;-)
