The #1 New York Times bestselling series!
Perfect for fans of Lauren Robert's Powerless and George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones series, Glass Sword is the high-stakes follow-up to the #1 New York Times bestselling Red Queen.
Mare Barrow's blood is red—the color of common folk—but her Silver ability, the power to control lightning, has turned her into a weapon that the royal court tries to control. The crown calls her an impossibility, a fake, but as she makes her escape from Maven, the prince—the friend—who betrayed her, Mare uncovers something startling: she is not the only one of her kind.
Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors. But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat. Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?

Reviews
hyperventilating like what?! (spoilers)
4By noturaveragebookieps, i still love maven <3 but anyways, maven branding his initial onto mare, and those letters to her- and making her wear a collar, like- there was a very slow start tho.The evolution of Mare and Cal continues
5By Eleazar HernandezWe see Mare appear to separate herself emotionally from everyone as Cal tries to get closer to her. A relationship between two other characters comes to an abrupt and heartbreaking halt. And we have an ending that brings us to our knees. This is an outstanding sequel to the Red Queen.Top notch
5By Big iron34Lots of action, builds a lot from the first book even if Mare gets annoying occasionally.Good Read
4By Dave hudA little less action than the first but definitely still rivetingNot worth it
1By Kayla AWOne of the few books I DNF, read to about page 200 and still wasn’t into it; which is a shame after how good the first book was.SOO GOOD

5By RubyDoobie789My mom is one step closer to making me read 8-12 range books cause ✨ violence ✨ and if she tries to take this book away from me I will go full KABLAMO MODE on her.Wuwgjkbewfvbweflvbhw
4By squirrelflameWhy do I still love Maven with all my heart 😂ITS SO GOOOD
5By DOWNLOAD IF BOREDRed queen was the best of the books so far but I am only in kings cage, the books seem to get more dramatic and more into cal and mares romance, I will recommend if you want a book with a action and romance. Their is a lot of plot twist that really annoy me but it’s a book and needs to keep moving so it’s unpredictable in some cases. I have fallen in love with the series and recommend to teenagers if they will like to read something to keep them up at night.AMAZING
5By elenareadzi love the action and romanceGood Enough

5By Rate6070080009the holy grail of answers to the cliffhangersIt was good
5By .Re.Te.He.I definitely think the first book was better, but this book is still amazing. I see a lot of reviews rating it low because Mare is selfish, but come on. It adds drama to the book and nobody’s perfect. And yes Cal and Mares relationship is a bit bumpy, but its obvious they care for eachother.Classic YA plot
4By wow, you thoughtThis is a good series! Classic YA strong female leadLove it!
5By Gigi 1601Excellent book! I love to see how psychologically accurate the things of her past affect Mare in the future, seeing the world and everything as monetary. Spoilers: I hate the death of her brother, but I love the small romance I could see between her and the prince cal, I read it in 3 days!I really tried ....
1By Guzin1.... but I’m done. I’ve suffered through two books of the completely unlikeable main character’s constant navel gazing between about how hard it is to be her and how great it is to be her. Yeah, we get it, you’re the lightening girl [eye roll]. First, Mare’s a perfect example of why certain folks should not have power over others. We’re constantly subjected to her inner thoughts of greatness—fail to show her respect and she’ll show you just how powerful she is—and her incessant whining about being a leader. Always eager to wield her power over others, even kill when it’s not necessary. And quick to threaten others for slights, real or imagined, she’s not someone who should have that kind of power. Second, her mind-numbing inconsistency. I almost laughed when toward the end of book 2, as Mare is saying good-bye to her family (only a day after losing their son), Mare makes it all about her and how she doesn’t need the alone time with her family on the tarmac because she’s used to being on parade and watched all the time (poor little lightening girl). But right before that, we were subjected to pages of her boring mental angst of just needing some time alone to process her feelings. Why can’t everyone leave her alone! Good grief. And when I say pages, I mean full chapters devoted to What have I become? Why don’t people leave me alone? How dare they disrespect who I am—I will show them the power and might of the lightening girl! I am great! I am nothing. I am your leader! I’m just Mare from the Stilts. You will fear me! Anyway, I’m out. I forced myself to finish Book 2 since I paid for it and I’ve never quit a series before, but it’s not worth it to struggle through another book of lightening girl’s diary. It was good but not the best
4By GB11232007Ok so after reading the Red Queen this was a bit of a disappointment and like tbh I didn’t like it that much but it was still really good. You meet a lot of new characters in this book as they are recruiting more like red bloods with sliver abilities so that’s cool. But like this book reminds me a lot of Mockingjay (the last book in hunger games) because like they are on an island that is a secret from the silvers and like yea, so it wasn’t like a new thing.
