Keeps one's interest throughout. Even though this happens in life it is sad. Thankful for those who fight the evil ones that we know are out there. Sad that so many don't write more about the good cops also.

Well written, Miranda’s inner demons were many but somehow she functioned correctly when needed. Parker is smooth and old southern charm but full of emotion and still mostly in control. The story is full and rounded. Will check out more of her writings soon.

I liked that it moved fast and that an abused woman got the final reward.

Loved this!!! Kept me on the edge of my seat!
  • Problematic themes

While the premise of the story wasn’t bad, a few items were very problematic in this book. The two main characters have sex while one is under the influence of narcotics meaning no consent was actually given. There were three non-white characters which were described using racist stereotypes - one spoke “with an Hispanic accent” and the other two were black characters that were given racist speech patterns. How these characters and scenes were written and then ok’d by an editor is beyond me.
