Description

She blinked, hoping she’d be able to see something…anything, but she remained as blind as when she woke up. She whimpered, knowing she was in big trouble.

A member of the famed Texas Rangers, Daxton Chambers has dealt with more than his share of depravity. But the Lone Star Reaper takes evil to a whole new level, kidnapping and burying women alive. It's Dax's job to help keep San Antonio safe, but even with help from friends in various law enforcement agencies, the killer remains two steps ahead. It's hardly the ideal time for a relationship, but Mackenzie Morgan is too luscious to resist. Dax wants her--which makes her an instant target for his newfound enemy.

When the Reaper gets personal, it will take every ounce of Daxton's considerable skill and training to keep Mack alive.

**Justice for Mackenzie is the 1st book in the Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

Finally - realistic characters who aren’t perfect, flawless or zillionaires. Just honest people with their own issues and insecurities hoping for something better…and resigned to the reality it probably won’t happen. Well written and very relatable!

This was an amazing story with some psychological stuff in it. The focus is on the leads, Daxton and Mackenzie! But the story is full of twists and turns, intrigue, suspense, and hot chemistry. A fabulous book and the start of a new series.

I couldn’t put the book down. The story was fantastic and full of suspense. The sex was hot and law enforcement was effective. Great story.

Usually the first book of Susan Stoker’s series are always great, however, this book fell short. It is not one I would want to read again, nor will I be purchasing others in the series. There is one thing I really don’t understand about this author. In everyone of her books, the female lead ALWAYS has a low self esteem. She always states how plain, how invisible, how short, how overweight, etc. that she is. She doesn’t understand how a hot guy could be into her. You DON’T have to be a supermodel to have a good self esteem! You need to love who you are before someone else will love you. The books would be more enjoyable if the female lead didn’t put herself down all the time. In this book, in addition to the female lead, Mack, putting herself down, the author made the Mack so awkward, it was really hard to read. Mack seemed more of a caricature than a person. Mack just rambled on and on and on and on and on and on about anything and everything. The suspense part of the storyline was well written, however, the way the Mack was written, ruined the book.
