After the House of Night series I was anxious for another series to dive into. P.C Cast didn’t disappoint me with this one! I’m totally hooked! I’ve pre-ordered every single book!

I'm a 68 yr. old uncle who trades reading books with my AMAZING 9th grade niece. This is without any doubt one of our (5) STAR "must read" favorites. Can't wait to read the next book this author has written!!! 👏👊👍
  • Enjoyable, except for the F-bombs

The story is compelling. I'm only 1/3 through the book and it continues to be compelling. The biggest gripe is why did the author feel compelled to have her characters drop the F word. It's not like the book is filled with profanity...which makes it even more bizarre when I read the F word. And why did her editor think it helped the story? Really is out of place in this story.

Honestly this book is so horribly slow and boring I can't even get myself to read past the first 5 chapters! Though all the rest of the reviews are 5 stars so I might force myself to read on....

This story is creative, complex, choreographed to dance with the light of the Moon & the rays of the Sun. As you read a beautiful world of magic and wonder is created on the pages. It is so sad that so many readers could not read through the amazing construction of this world. Unlike them I absolutely could not put this story down (much to my husband’s dismay!). I was so captured by everything happening in the world, the characters, their canine companions, their beliefs, the rituals, everything just came alive for me! Even the ugly parts, I felt them and knowing they were part of the story, I accepted them because I know it will all come together the way that it is supposed to whether I like it or not. I cannot wait to read more of Mari & Nik’s story and the apocalyptic world that has me wondering if maybe the Sun was on to something…
