HOT Addiction

Loved this bitter sweet story of love gone astray. Dex and Annabelle were victims of everyone else's needs. The chemistry was off the charts and it made you root for them to let go of baggage and find that love again. Great story

Hot Addiction is another awesome story in the HOT series. Suspenseful to the end and hoping that love wins. I recommend reading the whole series from the beginning so you learn the characters.

another good book i cant put down once i start reading the story about love and most of all mother's unconditional love to her baby, a friendship goes through thick and thin and forgiveness what else i could ask for a book, well good written book 5 stars and congratulations to ms. lynne harris

HOT Addiction is yet another thrilling and well written entry in the HOT series by Lynn Raye Harris. The usual formula of romance, thrill, danger, espionage, humor and characters we know and love combines to equal an intriguing and politically relevant story. Dex and Annabelle are one time lovers separated by manipulation and deceit. Dex hates her yet cannot turn her away when she needs his help because her life has been threatened. The initial premise is a bit weak as it's hard to believe such an alpha personality would take her no-show at the church for their wedding so passively. But I understand that the device was necessary for later story elements. It just wasn't believable to me. Annabelle is also a bit annoying. Probably my least favorite HOT female protagonist to date. She's whiny and again, the initial premise just doesn't work without her being the most spineless person ever and that doesn't jive with what comes later. However I overcame the initial reservations to like and cheer for these two people to get their HEA. Despite the reservations stated above about the start of the book I really enjoyed this one. I know, it seems an odd follow up to what I said above but it does eventually gel. I really, really liked the subtle (or not so subtle!) references to a number of today's political issues. I always like it when I can socially locate a book...it makes it that much more realistic for me. The lead up to Mendez' book at the end is nicely done and has me eagerly awaiting that book (pre-ordered already!!) The zinger in that one was pretty easy to see coming but that didn't detract from it...anticipation is just as good as surprise! So once again Harris has a winner and I strongly encourage you to not only read this book but all the previous ones as well. While they can be read separately I say read them in order so you get to know and understand all the characters as Harris does a great job building characters even after their own books have concluded.

I have to admit to judging a book by it's cover so from the minute I saw the muscular hunk of testosterone sharing Lynn Raye Harris' name on the cover I knew I was in for a thrill ride with sexy-as-sin Dex Davidson who is a highly skilled member of the Hostile Operations Team. Though it has been five years since Double Dee's fiancé broke his heart and left him standing at the altar he can't turn away from Annabelle when she suddenly reappears in his life with no where else to turn. He is justifiably hesitant to let her back into his life but one of the reasons I love this series is because it's not hard to predict that this highly principled Alpha hero will be putty in Annabelle's hands and his boss will be putting the full resources of this black ops unit in harms way. While circumstances ratchet up the danger factor, these two long lost lovers rekindle their emotional connection with plenty of sizzling sexual chemistry that earned a 5 star rating from this dedicated fan.
