Description

From New York Times Bestseller Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, comes a new standalone Contemporary Romance.

HE’S PERFECT FOR HER IN EVERY WAY, EXCEPT FOR ONE SMALL ISSUE. HE’S TOO LATE.

My name is Lily Snow. And I was once the kind of ugly that turned heads and made people stare. The worst part was how I let it ruin my life and destroy my relationship with the love of my life: Maxwell Cole, one of the sexiest, wealthiest, enigmatic men on the planet. All because I felt ugly and certainly not good enough for a man’s love.

But not anymore.

One car wreck, three reconstructive surgeries, and some unexpected money have changed my life.

I’ve started my own company, I’ve finally learned to like myself—not love, but like (hey, it’s a journey)—and I’ve met a wonderful new man who’s helped me put Max in the past where he belongs.

There’s only one problem: after six long months, Maxwell Cole is back, asking for the one thing I can’t give him. And he’s not taking no for an answer.

NOTE: This is a continuation of the USA Today Bestseller, FUGLY, but is a standalone.

Wow. I adored this story. I had to finish it because I was so invested in the story. I started to fully understand how Max got to be the way he was. He was exactly the kind of man Lily needed. He was a straight shooter, even if it wasn't what she wanted to hear. He complemented her in every way. His love for her was a beautiful thing to watch. Patricio omg can you say drama boy? Well, he's an actor, so that shouldn't be too surprising. 😉 I was sweating bullets towards the end. I was beginning to bite my nails to quick. Thank God it all worked out. They couldn't be more right for each other. I loved them. Thank you. Thank you ❤️👍😉😊

Thank you Mimi for some hard truths, mixed with laughter and love! If your thinking of reading Fugly, and It's a Fugly Life, do it! The love between Max and Lily, and her parents, brother, sister, even his mom, is honest, and causes you ask questions, and think inside of yourself. For me, a 5 five plus, plus, plus.

Such an inspiring, and enthralling read. This look at Lily and Max's story is very real and brings you into a world that makes you think about that fugly voice in your head that makes you wonder at your own worth. Lily has overcome some of her past but is still a work in progress (aren't we all) watching her come to terms with the fact that she is not done growing was very interesting and makes me realize that as old as I am their is still growing that need to do as well. (and I need to reconcile my fugly voice and deal with it as well). A modern day Beauty and the Beast with a true to life twist.

I am always skeptical to read sequels. But I really loved how this one turned out.

I received a REVIEW copy in exchange for an honest review. The story is a contemporary romance by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff. This is the second book in the "Fugly" series. "It's a Fugly Life" is grad 'A' reading (as to be expected coming from the author). There was much pacing, crying, the berating the characters and the author for putting me through such emotional torture. I was having to step away from the book just to catch an emotional breather only to be called back to continue the journey. It nearly killed me. I couldn't stop myself. ...But I survived and all the better for reading this book. I highly recommend this book for your reading pleasure.
