Description

Wrongly imprisoned whistle-blower Rachel Pierce would rather take her chances with her court appeal than accept her place as the first Interstellar Bride destined for the Colony. She's stubborn and determined to seek justice—and her freedom—on Earth...but her mates are not willing to risk her life or her future on a system they believe to be both primitive and corrupt.

Maxim of Prillon Prime fought ten long years in the Hive wars. Captured and tortured with his second, Ryston, they escaped only to be rejected by their own people and condemned to life on the Colony with the other "contaminated" cyborg warriors. As leader of Sector 3, it's Maxim's duty to set an example for his warriors and summon a bride. When she refuses transport, he can't allow her rejection to demoralize an entire planet of battle hardened but jaded warriors. Maxim and Ryston transport to Earth where they decide she's theirs and a maximum security human prison will not keep them apart.

Getting Rachel to the Colony is only the first challenge they will face. Convincing their beautiful mate to surrender to not one, but two dominant warriors is another. Even if they can win her love, a new evil is rising on the Colony and someone close to Maxim will be its first victim. Maxim will be its second, unless Rachel's love and relentless pursuit of the truth proves strong enough to save him.

I love all the books about the Interstellar brides but this one was a sweet romantic story with just enough touch of suspense to keep you hooked to the end. Great book for those new to MFM stories, especially if you dont want severe BDSM. I would recommend it to anyone dipping their toes into this style/genre.

This book is the first in a new spinoff series from Grace Goodwin's Interstellar Bride series. We have been introduced to the Colony in several previous books and it's great that this world is getting its own storylines. The Prillon Prime is a planet that has joined in the fight against The Hive (evil group trying to turn everyone into machines with one mind). When warriors are captured by the hive they are tortured and have cyborg parts implanted. The lucky ones who escape are rejected by their people as having become "contaminated". Instead of being decorated heroes the Prillion government banishes the "contaminated" warriors to an off planet Colony to live out their lives. This reminded me of the rejection and neglect many of our war veterans get when they return from serving their countries injured physically &/or mentally, so in many ways this book also makes an important statement about tolerance and priorities. Maxim and his second, Ryston, an ace fighter pilot, escaped from The Hive are now living on The Colony. Maxim is the leader of Sector 3 on the Colony and Ryston his strong backup. On Prillion they mate in pairs as the war claims so many that there is always a second to protect the female. Now that the leader of the Prillion people has been lucky enough to get mated with a human woman from the Interstellar Brides program, despite having been tainted by The Hive himself, the warriors on the Colony have been given a chance for a match as well. When Maxim and Ryston find out they have been matched they are beyond thrilled, yet they know much depends on the success of this mating. If all goes well the can be more matches for the males on the Colony. Back on Earth, Rachel, a biochemist for a crooked pharmaceutical company tries to warn everyone their new miracle cure is actually a killer. Instead of being a heroine Rachel is set up and the company has put all the blame on her. She finds herself imprisoned with very little chance of getting justice. With a strong sense of right and wrong the determined Rachel insists on going to court and giving testimony against the company. Rachel is given a second chance by being given the choice to give up her earth citizenship and entering the Interstellar Bride program. There is a positive match and she finds herself about to be mated to two warriors on the Colony. Rachel is a great heroine, no whining here, she is stubborn, witty and strong and will challenge her mates and others when needed. I like her Biochemichal medical background I think that makes her an important addition to this new world she has to find her place in. As in Grace Goodwin's other books there is an exciting story that goes along with the very steamy scenes the author is known for. I also like the message of acceptance, honor and equality this storyline addresses. A great start to this spinoff series, I can't wait for book 2, and to see how The Colony evolves.

Ms Goodwin's books to me are consistent, adventurous and well written. The men are glorious, loving and sexy. I love the stories from a males point of view.
