Following the USA Today bestseller, Lost and Found Sisters, comes Rainy Day Friends, Jill Shalvis’ moving story of heart, loss, betrayal, and friendship.
Six months after Lanie Jacobs’ husband’s death, it’s hard to imagine anything could deepen her sense of pain and loss. But then Lanie discovers she isn’t the only one grieving his sudden passing. A serial adulterer, he left behind several other women who, like Lanie, each believe she was his legally wedded wife.
Rocked by the infidelity, Lanie is left to grapple with searing questions. How could she be so wrong about a man she thought she knew better than anyone? Will she ever be able to trust another person? Can she even trust herself?
Desperate to make a fresh start, Lanie impulsively takes a job at the family-run Capriotti Winery. At first, she feels like an outsider among the boisterous Capriottis. With no real family of her own, she’s bewildered by how quickly they all take her under their wing and make her feel like she belongs. Especially Mark Capriotti, a gruffly handsome Air Force veteran turned deputy sheriff who manages to wind his way into Lanie’s cold, broken heart—along with the rest of the clan.
Everything is finally going well for her, but the arrival of River Green changes all that. The fresh-faced twenty-one-year old seems as sweet as they come…until her dark secrets come to light—secrets that could destroy the new life Lanie’s only just begun to build.

A family you’ll want for your own
5By 1 BankerThese are some of my favorite characters ever! All of them! A whole loud, nosy, interfering, loving family. Toss in a couple of deeply wounded, truly emotionally messed up women, a couple of big, strong, incredibly hunky guys all living & working togetherness a winery & you’ve got several hours of good reading. But be sure to give yourself some time because you won’t want to stop until you get to the very end!EXCELLENT STORY
5By YN2ChrisGreat characters, excellent story lines. I fell in love with the Capriottis. Can’t wait to read more about them.Rainy Day Friends.....Loved it before the first Chapter was completely read!
5By monikarpI never post spoilers in my reviews. While reading this book, I so wanted to know how Everything was going to play out and what the outcomes were going to be, yet wishing the book never to end. In my eyes, that is one of the things which makes a book great. Way to go Jill Shalvis, You have a BIG WINNER here! Congrats!Mark and Laney find love when they were both avoiding it
5By NewberrydAnother enchanting visit to Wildstone! This stand alone book shares the town as a backdrop and a few geographical features with the other books in the series, but that’s all. I really enjoyed that aspect of this story. While Mark and Laney have so much going on in their lives, a relationship is not something either of them is interested in having. Of course their chemistry is off the charts, but both have reinforced walls around their hearts. Laney’s road to self discovery runs through facing her relationship with her own mother and dealing with being widowed from a bigamist husband. I love the big wine making family. One of my favorite aspects of the story is the family/employee lunches. I always enjoy Jill Shalvis’ books, and this one is no exception. Thanks for a reminder about the importance of family, by blood or just love!I love the Capriottis!
5By kmmichelsI love the Capriottis! Lanie and Mark were absolutely fabulous! River, Holden, Cara, all of them... Ms. Shalvis brought out the tears several times while reading about Lanie and Mark both learning to trust. The twins were an absolute riot, and the epilogue! *SIGH* The perfect ending.Absolutely love this book!
5By 12tootI want to be a member of the Capriotti family, either by blood or by choice! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was funny, witty, and emotional. And, don’t get me started with Mark, very hot, alpha, and considerate to Lainie and his daughters. I’ve been a fan of Jill Shalvis’ for years and have probably read everything that she’s written and feel that “Rainy Day Friends” is in the top five of her books (actually it’s number 1). This is one book that you don’t want to end but you can’t put it down. It’s one to keep and to reread when you need a pick me up.Couldn’t Put It Down!!
5By EvergreenbrdxLanie Jacobs life is a mess. Losing her husband 6 months ago and finding out that he had cheated on her having married other women Lanie was ready for a fresh start. Little did Lanie know the graphic artist job she took at Capriotti Winery would chance her life for the better. Mark Capriotti’s world revolves around his daughters. Having his wife leave him and his daughter he is determined to avoid love at all costs. Mark and Lanie can’t help but let down their walls for each other. Now Lanie needs to trust that Mark is exactly what she needs. Another beautiful story that I couldn’t put down.
