Wicked Soul: Nora Ash by Shoshanahlila Just finished Wicked Soul by Nora Ash and liked it very much. While some elements may be somewhat similar to other vampire romances I've read, there are enough differences to make this a unique story. This IS a vampire romance and as such, there are a limited number of Socially acceptable combinations mathematically possible for a story like this, so it can be forgiven. Vampires, by their very nature are not all sweetness and light, but in order to be a romantic figure, should not be totally unredeemable. Ms. Ash does a good job of walking that fine line. Her Paranormal world includes many shades of darkness as well as some softer, lighter sides like friendship and family bonds, (even among the enemies) with the best and worst of all, being Soulmates. The one, our fated match, the ultimate of joy to have and the deepest pit of sorrow is to lose. Finding her even effects the rest of Warrin's "family" through his bond and interactions with them. I like how the concept of balance is used in the story as well as explained during one of the main couple's many deep discussions. Ms.Ash uses this scene to illustrate how they feed each other's souls long before they become a physical couple. The change in Warrin is noticeable to those closest to him and illustrates how he is intertwined with those around him. He is not a total lost cause and with the love of the right woman, can change for the better. This is Romance pretty much defined right there. For Liv, Warrin is her dark knight, her champion, and ultimate companion from the moment they are thrown together. She is portrayed as someone we could be friends with, a bit introverted, a reader of naughty romances, like us. I like how Ms. Ash has given Liv an inner strength and beauty. Of course Liv has no idea how her inner self shines through her. She's smart, creative, and not afraid to get her hands dirty, but also has darkness in her life. Warrin redeems her just as much as she redeems him. All in all, a satisfying read, read with text-to-speech for Android/ Googlebooks, because EVERYONE who wants to enjoy a good story should. Oh my! I loved, loved, loved Wicked Soul, the first book in a deliciously dark new paranormal/supernatural romance series entitled Ancient Blood by the amazingly talented Nora Ash. Although Wicked Soul is Book 1 of the Ancient Blood Series, it is NOT the first release & not recommended as a standalone. It should only be read after Origin, the series prequel, in which Ash establishes the premise, sets up the storyarc, introduces the primary characters, and skillfully lays the groundwork for the interconnected underlying conflict featured throughout the Ancient Blood series, & does it all skillfully & beautifully! Ash is a gifted storyteller, talented wordslinger, & skilled wordsmith who excels at creating imaginative & compellingly layered storylines infused with danger, drama, suspense, & dark romance, set in fascinating worlds populated with intriguing, complex characters who literally explode from the pages & capture your imagination as well as your heart. And this book/series is certainly no exception! Wicked Soul is a riveting, fast-paced, full-length paranormal tale filled to the brim with spine-tingling danger, chilling suspense, sinister machinations, heart-wrenching angst, explosive passion, & seductive romance. The narrative is beautifully written in the third person with the primary perspective from the female protagonist, Olivia Green. There is a short, second perspective given only in the epilogue by one of the other characters. The dialogue is smart, snappy, well-executed, at times humorous, & flows effortlessly. But without a doubt, my favorite component of every Ash story is her cast of well-developed characters, always flawed yet imperfectly perfect. And again, Ash doesn't disappoint! There's nothing better than a well-written antihero, & Ash pens some of the best I've ever read. I was immediately smitten with the dangerous, dark, broody European vampire Warin Waldlitch when he was introduced in Origin which takes place approximately 800 years in the past. In Wicked Soul, In Wicked Soul, Warin is now a wealthy, charismatic, & powerful ancient who rules the supernaturals of Chicago. Our heroine is Olivia Green, a beautiful, free-spirited young woman with a painful past which has resulted in self-esteem issues. Liv has never been able to put down roots, constantly moving from place to place, always in search of happiness but never finding it. But despite her personal issues and cynicism, Liv has remained upbeat but has pretty much given up on love and leads a solitary, lonely existence-until now! Warin and Liv are complete opposites but complement each other brilliantly. The chemistry between them is mesmerizing. When the reserved Warin meets the lovely, chatterbox Liv, his entire existence implodes. No spoilers from me but I will say this- A beautiful, plucky shop clerk who'd never even met a supernatural creature until she's abducted from a coffee shop & thrown in a cage with a vampire to be used as his food, simply because she'd been reading a vampire romance-check! A handsome ancient vampire who allows himself to be captured while conducting an investigation into the disappearance of his subjects in Chicago, but instead of answers, he finds more questions along with an intriguing young woman he can't remove from his thoughts-check! A mysterious conspiracy, evil machinations, secrets, lies, danger, drama, action, suspense, intrigue,& betrayal-check! Attraction, angst, passion & romance-That and a whole lot more! Did I like this book? No, I loved it! Would I Recommend it? You bet, and I am but not as a standalone and only for adult readers. This book does NOT end in a cliffhanger per se but rather a happy for now. Also, there is an underlying interconnected conflict running throughout each book which will be resolved as the series progresses. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

A saucy, sultry twist on your typical vampire romance novel. I absolutely loved this book! The chemistry between Liv and Warin is palpable. There is no denying how strong the connection between the two of them is. The question is... how far will they allow it to take them? I cannot wait for the next book in this series! Liv is life. Her thoughts, her personality, her wants and wishes. Warin is unlife. This incredible story, by Nora Ash, has a such funny components, with Liv’s bubbling and infectious personality splattered all over the place. Such a contrast to the almost stoic Warin, who, as an Ancient, starts to feel alive, or as least as much as he can, from their first meeting. Treasure this love story, as you read it. Very close to perfection! Waiting for the next in the series❤️

Fantastic read!

Warin was amazing! He’s now a modern male, no longer the bloodthirsty vampire he used to be. And he runs into his soulmate again! Without saying much more.. I loved it! It’s a standalone, HEA and I definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in vampire romance! *swoon* can’t wait until Aleric has his story out!

I couldn't put this book down! Such a great, detailed story. I didn't expect the ending and can't wait for the next story!

Wicked Soul: This is my first book from this author and I really enjoyed it. If you like paranormal with suspense, humor, alpha males and romance then this book is for you. There was a lot of build up between Warin and Olivia and then the explosion—you’ll have to read it to find out.. The only thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was Olivia was just too gullible and too indecisive in some aspects. She seemed just a little too innocent. I love paranormal and a happy ending which this book definitely has. I would definitely recommend this book and will be reading more from this author. FYI: you need to read origin first as these are in order.

WICKED SOUL - IS PASSIONATELY HOT! An incredible deep-felt read from the start; every time I said one more chapter I had to continue reading until I reached the conclusion. Inside; eerie danger, gripping suspense, action, life-threatening incidents, humor, camaraderie, moments that tug your heartstrings, surprises, secrets, betrayal, a mystery, potent vivid scene descriptions, and intense sizzling romance. Liv and Warin meet under unusual circumstances; both kidnapped and locked in a cage by vampire haters. Liv is sassy, enjoys drawing as a hobby and Warin is a dangerous gorgeous Law Enforcement vampire. When the haters cut Liv to make her appetizing for Warin he saves her life with his blood. They develop a friendship, encounter many twists and turns and how they get their joyous ending is quite an enthralling read! An impressive story that had my heart racing, laughing, feeling and cheering for the praiseworthy characters. Liv and Warin definitely belong together and their romance is certainly genuine; loved them together. If you enjoy vampire romances this is definitely a fabulous book for your library. I found this to be a most gratifying read and loved it so much {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.} Without reservations, I recommend this book.
