Description

From New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal Best-selling author, Georgia Cates, comes a standalone dark Mafia romance novel.

Emilia—
All I’ve ever wanted was to marry for love.
But girls like me don’t have that luxury.
We are used as pawns in a game we can’t control.
The game? It’s called Mafia.
I was foolish enough to try to change the rules… and I lost.

Luca—
She was promised to me years ago.
And he dared to take her from me.
Dared to touch what was mine.
I put an end to that.
I hope he’s enjoying the view from his dirt room.

Emilia—
My beloved’s killer placed a ruby ring on my finger and called me his queen.
But that red gem symbolizes something different for me.
It represents the blood shed by those I love most.
Hell was empty the day we wed.
Because the devil was standing before me and said “I do.”

Luca—
I saw her as a possession.
A shiny toy I didn’t want other boys to play with.
But she’s so much more.
Beautiful and brave and strong and broken all at once.
She tastes like everything I’ve ever wanted.

Emilia—
Hidden and patient.
I wait for the perfect time to seek my revenge.
But slowly, I feel him possessing me.
His heart is full of darkness… and I still want every inch of him.
Hard as I try, I can’t escape loving this beautiful monster.

Luca—
I’m waiting patiently because I already know that she’s mine.
Mine in a way that no one will ever understand.
Even if she hasn’t yet realized it.
For love, I’d do anything.
For her, I’d do everything.

  • Loved it! Steamy and hot!

I absolutely loved the blurb for Waiting for My Queen by Georgia Cates and was excited to read it. A mafia arranged marriage story that was an enemies to lovers romance with a hero who knows what he wants and is determined to get it at any cost and a heroine who might just bring him to his knees. Luca is not a good man. He is cocky, does as he pleases and is one very determined man. No is not a word he knows. Emilia was raised to firmly know her place, but the heart wants what it wants. When that is taken from her, revenge is all she seeks. But Luca and Emilia may have always been destined to be together, despite what they truly feel for the other. This was not a sweet romance, but some things can’t be ignored. Luca is determined to own Emilia and Emilia is determined to bring him down. But suddenly they find themselves wanting the impossible. Their chemistry is intense, but can they move forward after everything that has happened? A hot and steamy battle of wills that will keep you engaged from start to finish! Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog. Happy reading!
  • What a storyline!

What a storyline! I really didn’t know what to expect from this book, especially after the warning the author gave us, but I really got into it and couldn’t put it down! Emilia has been betrothed to Luca since birth, but never really sees him and therefore falls in love with another. When her father tries to do the right thing and buy her out of the contract, he is relived when Luca accepts, although angry about it. Plotting, Luca does the unthinkable on Emilia’s wedding day, and the original contract goes back into play. While Emilia starts out her relationship to Luca solely out of revenge, the lines get blurred the more they get to know about each other and where Luca was originally the bad guy, we see him start to experience remorse and be more thoughtful. The drama and action in this story was wild and I was on the edge of my seat reading to see what happened next. I can’t wait to see if we get another book following either siblings because I would love to see it continue on! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Well Blow me out of my Seat!!! What an Epic Masterpiece! This Arranged Mafia Marriage Romance will have you begging for more!!! Set in 1978 New York, Emilia Bellini is promised to Luca Rossini on her 21st birthday. One problem...this mafia princess is in love with another. They knew in their world a woman’s choice is not her own when it comes to relationships. That’s how the mafia works after all. “A queen will always turn her pain into strength and strength into power...” You are going to love to hate Luca in the best way possible. Give him a chance though. I will not ruin this book for you so that’s all I can say but this is definitely a must read!! So much action, twists, deception and of course heat! I loved every minute of this book! Told in dual POV

This story hits you from the get-go! First I loved the time frame of when this story took place! I was having some flashbacks to my young girl days reading this.  Second, the soundtrack for this story, I loved how the music played into the evolution of Emilia and Luca. Oh my me, Luca Rossini...this is a character you are going to hate to love.  But with Ms. Cates phenomenal storytelling skills, you are going to realize that Luca is redeemable, he is a true mafia man and will stop at nothing to get what he wants.  And what he wants is the betrothal that was promised to him years ago. Emilia is grace under pressure.  She is steel wrapped in silk.  She is strong when she has to be and knows when to bend when she must.  She has plans, revenge and vengeance is what spurs her on her quest for justice for her family. The chemistry between Emilia and Luca is on fire!  The line is almost transparent between love and hate between them. If you are looking for an angsty, dark and steamy tale, look no further than this new story from Georgia Cates!
  • An entertaining read

4.5 Stars Waiting for my Queen was my first read by this author and I am impressed with her superb writing skills. The story is captivating and she will take you on an epic journey that is sure to keep you entertained from beginning to end. This book has checked off all of my boxes - mafia-themed romance, imperfect anti-hero, a strong heroine, and some scorching scenes interspersed with moments of action and suspense. I wasn’t sure about this book when I first dived into it as it is set in 1978, however, I found that the historical aspect didn’t affect my enjoyment of this fast-paced book at all. What you have is a marriage contract between two powerful, ruling families, but things go horribly awry thus setting the tone for this spellbinding mafia romance. Luca Rossini is definitely an anti-hero and I loathed him in the beginning. He is demanding, ruthless, and commits a rather heinous act that left me wondering if he would be redeemable. The author does a brilliant job with the character evolution of this beautifully flawed, exacting mafia bad boy. "The captive who longs for her captor. An angel who craves her devil. A queen who needs her king" Emelia Bellini is a mafia princess. Promised to one and in love with another. She possesses an inner strength to her and I love how she doesn’t always put up with Luca’s nonsense. To say that these two have chemistry together is an understatement. There were quite a few kindle melting moments that left thankful that I reading those passages in public! How this love story unfolds is impressive. I went from abhorring the hero to loving him in the end. The character development was impeccable as was the author’s ability to illustrate how their relationship evolved over time. However, I did still grapple with something that occurred at the beginning of the book and just couldn’t completely reconcile myself with it - hence 4.5 stars instead of a solid 5 star rating. Overall, I found Waiting for my Queen to be a very enjoyable read with complex characters, an engaging storyline, and good plot execution. I am truly hoping that this author gives some of the secondary characters their own book because I am not ready to say goodbye to the Rossinis and Bellinis. I read an early complimentary version of this book.

Another brilliant story from an incredible Author. I consumed every word in this story and couldn’t get enough. This book has it all: mafia, suspense, arranged marriage, alpha hole, possessiveness, survival. I absolutely loved this story and will be re-reading it again very soon!
