I didn’t have high hopes from the description, but I was more than pleasantly surprised. I can’t wait to read on!

A Necessary Sin by Georgia Cates is the first book in her new series The Sin trilogy. It is a twisted tale of revenge and determination and love that will leave you ignoring everything but the book until the last page is turned. Bleu McAllister has done everything she can since she was twelve years old to prepare for the revenge she wants to mete out against the man who killed her mother and tried to kill her. She is going to Scotland to infiltrate The Order and she has her sights set on using the son of the murderer to bring him doen. Sinclair Breckenridge isn't sure what it is about the gorgweous new bermaid at The order's pub but he can't stop thinking about her. He doesn't do commitment or repeats but she won't even show any interest in him. THAT's never happened before. This story is addicting. It is dark and twisted and very surprising. LoVeD It!!! The beginning sets the story by convincing the reader that Bleu will never be tempted by a man that is good looking and charming. However, Bleu did not anticipate a man like Sinclair. Years of planning and training has Bleu convinced she is capable of being a stone cold killer. Bleu needs to seduce Sinclair in order to get close to him in order to get close to his father. But when Bleu shows up and demands that Sinclair play by her rules, I'm not sure what to think. I was disappointed to learn that Bleu had no prior experience with men and yet she was able to seduce Sinclair. That was a little hard to believe. I like how Bleu comes out under the radar undetected for her abilities to protect herself. These guys have no idea how lethal she is. Her true identity being hidden from them is proving to be quite surprising and beneficial to her task. I would have liked to read more about what it is Sinclair actually does for work. I wanted more inside information about The Fellowship and how it runs. I thought I was going to read a story about a killer, but the only killing has been done by Bleu. I can tell that there is a bad seed in The Fellowship and its a matter of time before that person is exposed. Basically, you get a sense that Bleu is wrong about her past judgements regarding this family. Her information is wrong. I believe a mole is among them and someone is trying to sabotage this family and take what does not belong to them. I love the culture and music choices Georgia brings into her stories. I love that Georgia chose to write about a strong woman who makes decisions without hesitation. Unfortunately, I have a few areas and moments in the story that are drab. The pace of the story gets slow in some areas. As the story progresses so does the excitement for where Sinclair and Bleu are headed. I had hoped this story would focus more on the betrayal aspect and The Fellowship, but it's more of a romance in the forbidden sense. I think this first installment will lead to a better second installment. I think everything I was hoping for in this one will be in the next one. I look forward to truth being revealed.

This story is sexy, edgy, and full of "The Wow Factor." Sin & Bleu's characters made the story more powerful and interesting. Looking forward to the next book in February.
