Description
It was the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring…nope. No. Nuh-uh. That’s a lie.
The moment that Caro wakes up, she knows that she’s not alone.
One thump-thump from the living room and she quickly moves into action.
One 9-1-1 call later, and she’s ready to defend herself.
Only, she gets more than she bargains for when she steps out into her living room and comes face to face with a living, breathing nightmare.
And isn’t it just fitting that the man that saves her by coming down the chimney with a large black gun in his hand is named Saint Nicholas?
***
It seemed like the start of a bad joke.
Saint Nicholas comes down the chimney on Christmas Eve night, but he isn’t there to bear gifts. He’s there to take out the trash.
When he lands on his silent feet, he has no other choice but to put himself in harm’s way.
One look at Caro’s terrified face, and he can’t stop himself.
He steps in just as the bullets start flying, saving the damsel in distress and taking a bullet to the shoulder for his trouble.
But one thing he can say is, heroes always win the girl.
And Caro is the best Christmas miracle of all.

So sad this is the final book in this series!
5By Samantha B. SokolSo sad this is the final book in this series! I have really loved how much thought Lani has put into this series and the consistency of giving us a great quality read each month throughout this crazy year! This book focuses on Carolina and Saint and how they get their HEA together. Saint is the son of a previous president and has hated his past and involvement in that his whole life. When he got old enough, he finally got out from under his parents and never looked back and keeps a low profile where nobody knows his past. Carolina is a driven spitfire and when she first meets Saint she is instantly attracted, although nothing happens between them until they are both exposed and need to quarantine and end up in the same room. Once they are out of quarantine, something happens in Saint’s life that has him pushing Carolina away and although she knows there’s more to what’s happening, she’s still hurt. But once everything is out in the open it becomes a true suspenseful mystery with Saint on the hunt to find out the truth with Carolina by his side helping him. I have to say – I did NOT see it all unfolding the way it did, but wow was I on the edge of my seat enjoying every last word! I was literally guessing up until the last minute and even then, I didn’t expect it! Things like that is what makes a book for me, and really all of Lani’s books are like that for me. Per usual, I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and I can’t wait to see what series we get into next year! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.A must read
5By I want this bookAmazing end to this series. I love this 2nd generation of swat team. We had the characters we fell in love with originally. Now their own kids. It brought a smile of the full circle for sure. Saint story was a mystery and interesting. I love his and caro story. One of my favorite couples in this series. Amazing work as alwaysUgh
