Texan for the Taking
5By 777sailsI received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This is the final Corbyn Sisters book in Last Stand, Texas. While this is a part of the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. I personally would read all of the books as they are wonderful stories. Delilah Corbyn is the owner and head chef of the Dragonfly restaurant in Last Stand. She studied at the C.I.A (Culinary Institute of America). She also worked under a chef who stole ideas from her and claimed as his own, causing her to return home. Jock Rossi is a famous TV chef and is coming to Last Stand to open up a restaurant. He believes if he fails in the smaller arena then his hard-earning reputation won’t be destroyed. He is more of a fantastic home-style chef who was taught by his half Cajun / half Italian family. This is a book that brings in an element of mystery as to Delilah’s former boss, Drew Miller. This is especially true once Delilah finds out that Drew issued a challenge to Jock for a show show-down. Did Drew issue the challenge as Jock was coming to Last Stand to open the restaurant? Is Jock using Delilah to get that one up on Drew? These and other questions arise and kept me turning the pages to find out! This was a sexy read. It was not overly graphic nor overpowered the story in sex scenes but it was more of a natural progression of the relationship between Delilah and Jock. I would recommend this to anyone over the age of 18. It was also written in my favorite dual POV format. This helped to fully understand the characters. I also hope that the author continues to write in Last Stand (especially with the Rossi family next!) Fingers crossed here!fun characters
4By BooklineandsinkerI really liked this book it was so cute, the characters felt really relatable which is so fun. I did feel at the beginning Delilah came off a little whiney but the more I read and the more her story was told she became less whiney and more understood. I liked the push and pull with Jock their personalities made it fun. The book for the most part was clean there was one scene with sexual content but over all the author kept it fun and simple. I really enjoyed tis fun love story and I really enjoyed the family factor in this fun story as well. I loved Delilah's Meemaa she was a pistol and so so fun. Over all this book was worth the read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.Sweet and fun
