Wow!! Stolen Life is an explosive and masterful sequel to Stolen Lust. Ian and Cas continue to have an addictive, out-of-this-world chemistry that seriously threatens to burn up a kindle. Like all books by Charmaine Pauls, it’s written beautifully in a way that makes the world around you disappear. This book has a very different feel from Stolen Lust. The first book was all about the dangerous connection between Cas and Ian, experienced in stolen moments. In Stolen Life, everything is more intense. The stakes, the dangers, and the connection between Cas and Ian are so much deeper. Here, Ian brings Cas into his gorgeous, dangerous world. Despite their magnetic chemistry, there is a gulf between them and you know from the start it’s going to take a lot of work, luck, and magic for them to find their HEA. The amazing setting of Zimbabwe is the perfect metaphor for their love- absolutely gorgeous and could kill you at any moment. Ian and Cas can’t help but be drawn to each other, but the peace between them is always threatened by outside forces. It made for some white knuckled reading. Let me just say, Ian is dead sexy. He’s the kind of hero that Pauls is known for. He’s a force of contradictions- demanding, intense, brash, dangerous, vulnerable, and so in love he can hardly see straight. His determination to have Cas can be as alluring as it is infuriating at times. There were a few moments where I wanted to smack him upside the head for Cas. And then with one look into his feelings about her (told here in a great dual POV), you can’t help but swoon. Cas is absolutely wonderful. She’s a capable, intelligent, and beautiful woman who is just trying to find her way to happy. No matter what obstacles come up in her path, she keeps working for it. But outside forces (and at times, even Ian) just keep giving this lovely lady the smack down. Boy is she tested. I’m praying to the divine Ms. Pauls that she finds her happy and that she gets everything she deserves in the final book. You have to read the previous book prior to reading Stolen Life. Be warned, it ends on a major cliffy. If I had my way, I would be diving immediately into the next and final book. Thankfully, Pauls isn’t making us wait very long (thankyouthankyou!) because Stolen Love is out next month. Don’t let the short wait stop you from reading. This is an amazing, unforgettable series so far. One that I will definitely be re-reading.

olen Life: A Dark Romance (Beauty in the Stolen: A Dark Romance Series, Book 2) - Charmaine Pauls Book 2 in the Stolen series starts off where Book 1 left off, so really this series needs to be read in order. This book centers on how Ian and Cas are going to adjust to life now that he has kidnapped her and she is somewhat of a prisoner at his reserve. Cas has deep feelings for Ian but is being torn apart from both ends with threats from South African law enforcement wanting her to set Ian up, to her loyalty and blossoming love for Ian. Cas and Is. play a lot of tug of war as far as her liberties go but she insists on carving put some sort of happy existence working within the community in Zimbabwe. Trust is an ongoing problem and many of the issues are caused by outside the couples issues, as in distrust from Ian’s team member and brother and others. Just as Cas starts to figure out a solution we are sucker punched with horrible miscommunication and mistrust leading to possible horrible consequences. Then there is the cliffhanger that was brutal for the characters and the readers who can only sit back, watch the fireworks and pray the next book is released quickly. A crazy, on the edge of your seat dark romance that is filled with danger, intrigue, page turning excitement as it takes you down the storyline intense wild rapids of a ride.

Stolen Life is the second book in the Beauty In The Stolen which is the continuing story of Ian and Cas. The book opens after Ian has kidnapped Cas and taken her to his home. The book is filled with unexpected twists, surprises, and sizzling passion. I could not put this suspenseful book down until the last page. It does end in a major cliffhanger and I can hardly wait until the final book in the trilogy is published which is entitled Stolen Love. Charmaine Pauls has written an excellent book! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
  • Cas & Ian love (and fight!) in a stunning setting in book two

The location stole the show in this second book of Cas and Ian's trilogy, just like I hoped it would when I was reading book one. I absolutely loved the detail of the beautiful setting and the people and way of life there, written in such a gorgeous way that really immersed me in the experience. I had the same personal frustrations I always have with characters keeping secrets and trying to handle dangerous situations on their own, decisions that always lead to consequences they think they are avoiding, but in reality, I'm sure I would do the same so really it's just being frustrated with us silly humans who never learn! I enjoy Cas and Ian's romance and intense connection to each other that makes them choose each other over everything else and love how uniquely suited Cas and her knowledge and skills are to Ian's home. With that angsty (and good) cliffhanger, I am very much looking forward to their final book - and grateful it comes out soon.

Gah!! That cliffhanger!! I can usually handle cliffhangers but this one is pure torture. If I had the next book, I would stay up all night to continue because I’ve got to know what happens next. This series has me enthralled. I’m loving Ian and Cas more and more. Cas was brilliant in this 2nd book. I love how clever she is and how she stands up for herself. Ian is just fascinating. He’s so intense and his obsession with Cas is addictive. I’m going to counting down the days until the release of book 3!

Loved reading the engrossing and enthralling story. Even though Ian kidnaps Cas, she can't help the attraction, feelings, and exasperation she feels toward Ian. The chemistry and passion between Ian and Cas ignites. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written and riveting story full of mystery, intrigue, and romance. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

OMG! The second installment of Ian and Cas’s story was even better than the first and the cliffhanger is shocking and has me anxiously anticipating the rest of their tumultuous story. The passion, drama, danger, and lust continue as Ian kidnaps Cas and introduces her to his world. The setting of Zimbabwe and all the dangerous wildlife combined with the people in the village who embrace Cas play a huge part in her new life and the nuanced storytelling is captivating. I read a complimentary copy of this book and all opinions expressed in my voluntary review are completely my own.
  • Consumed by this stolen life!

This book started right where book one left off, so it must be read first. I loved Ian’s possessive, protective, patient self! He was willing to fight for Cas’s heart, will she do the same? This author did an amazing job of setting up Ian’s life, and she made me feel like I was there. But how does Cas fit in? Cas frustrated me with her obstinance and stubbornness sometimes, but I liked that she was strong, smart and challenged Ian. He liked that she challenged him too! They seem “matched in every way,” and they began to consume each other like I did this book. I loved getting to know both of them better, and they both made me swoon with their thoughts about the other. But that cliffhanger left me in tears, so now I not-so-patiently wait for the third and final book. I requested and received an advanced copy of this ebook for my honest review that I am voluntarily leaving.
