Description

A decades-old crime. A torment not forgiven. Ice-cold revenge.

When a prolific international criminal takes one of Doctor Genevieve Lenard's friends hostage in his own flat, she is hard pushed to believe his motivation. Calling on her expertise as a nonverbal communications specialist, she sees the genuine fear and desperation behind this thief's blustering demand to help him stop the Collector.

For almost a year, the Collector has evaded Genevieve and her team, leaving behind a trail of stolen artworks, burned-down museums and blown-up galleries. And innocent victims.

Grudgingly cooperating with this thief and his associates, Genevieve and her team track the Collector to the cobbled alleyways of Lisbon, Portugal, where they have only one chance to stop this merciless killer from exacting revenge that took decades to plan—an action that would have an irreversible political and economic impact on a global scale.

I’ve read several hundreds of “first of the series for free” ebooks. The Genevieve Lenard Series was the first series I’d wanted to know what happened next. The Dante Connection was the very first ebook I purchased and have been looking forward to the next one of the series even since. The plot of each books were perfectly mastered (no gaps or questionable loose ends.) I love all the characters, each were interesting in their own way, their friendship and how they became family of choice by their love and acceptance of each other good and flaw. I’ve recommended this series to family and friends, very interesting and fun to read. Highly recommended!

I have loved, loved, loved Estelle Ryan ever since stumbling on to her first Gauguin Connection novel. I have purchased every subsequent book and often re-read them in order in anticipation of the much-anticipated new-release novel. I realise it is beyond challenging to stay fresh with new ideas for the GL-and- friends team, but this latest Malhoa adventure falls a bit flat with far less local culture of Portugal and a confusing cast of rather ill-defined characters.

Ryan has to write faster or I have to read slower. Because it had been a while since the last book, it took a chapter or so to remember what was happening.
