Description

Ry Archer and Bowe Keller are as different as night and day. But that doesn't stop the childhood frenemies from reconnecting whenever one of them needs some help tackling any of life's major puzzles, like figuring out why getting what you always thought you wanted isn't living up to all the hype. They might constantly rub each other the wrong way (except for the times when they rub each other the really-really right way), but there is no denying they've always made one hell of a great team. They manage to balance each other out… when they aren't driving each other crazy.

For Ry, he thought he had the perfect girl, the one who was going to run headfirst into a methodically planned future. He was going to marry young and have the same kind of legendary, life-long romance his parents did… or so he believed. His girl was going to stand by his side as he chased his dream of being a professional football player all the way to the NFL.

He was wrong.

Now, Ry's gotta figure out the difference between a bruised heart and a broken one, and the only person who can teach him the difference is Bowe.

Bowe always felt like she had to run before she learned to walk to keep up with her father's musical legacy. He's her hero, and she wants nothing more than to make him proud. Bowe's about to figure out that maybe she wasn't meant to be in a rock and roll band and that it is possible she let her father's success cloud her idea of what making music should be. Bowe needs to find her own path to fame, and there's a good chance she wouldn't be brave enough or bold enough to start over if Ry Archer hadn't charmed his way back into her life when she least expected it.

Some days they're enemies. Other days they're lovers. For a while, they were strangers. But now, it feels more like they might have always been soulmates.

Eventually, Ry and Bowe realize that letting go of an old dream and creating a new one is much easier to do with the right person by your side.

I absolutely loved the original series, and this is the best continuation without making it about the original characters. I also am glad to see not every couple having children. It ties better with modern life and choices. Cannot wait for the next story!

I love the original series so much. I feel like this book was rushed or missing some parts. I wish the story had been longer maybe more fleshed out. I feel like I didn’t get enough time with characters or they didn’t have enough time to naturally grow and develop and it felt rushed. I still have it 5 stars but I want more for the next book.

This book was great, as a long time reader of Jay Crownover, I was so excited to get read the 2nd generation of Marked kids. I liked the build up to Ry and Bowe, and I hope she doesn’t leave us hanging with the other stories that seem to have started here. I want to know how they all turn out. Thanks for taking us back to Denver, hope to see more

How Ry and Bowen friendship when they were kids turn into the love they show for each other and the support they have from their parents was really cute 🥰 🥰🥰🥰🥰. Hopefully this is the first book from series because I want to know about the rest from tha BIG FAMILY. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Welcome back to the Marked Men/Saints of Denver world! I truly never thought JC would write the second generation and I was thrilled to get my copy! This is a true second generation story so if you’re looking for lots of appearances from the first crew, you are out of luck. Yes, they are present but the story revolves around Ry and Bowe as it should. If you’ve never read either previous series, you can easily read this book and not be confused by who is who.

One of my favorite series lives on! The deliciousness of the Marked Men continues with the next generation. Once I got past trying to recall the first generation’s stories each time the characters were mentioned, I was able to focus on Ry and Bowe and fell in love with their unique story. This is not a Marked Men part 2. This is the authentic stylings of Jay Crownover creating a glimpse of that which is familiar just before she hangs a sharp left turn. Because comfortable is boring.

Fabulous family and young love! I love this author’s storytelling and fantastic characters. This next gen series starts out with heart melting couple in Ry and Bowe. Their first chance at love ended with hurt feelings and years apart until Ry needs his old friend Bowe when his perfect world is thrown out of whack. Perfection is over rated especially when less than leads to better results. I haven’t read all the first gen Marked Men books but I can imagine that those who are invested in that series are so excited for this new one. There was a lot of kids that are introduced in the beginning of this story and almost overshadowed Ry and Bowe’s sweet love story. The background and intros take up a lot of the first half of the story. When Ry and Bowe get on track their romance is delicious. They’re so supportive of each other and the connection is terrific and based on a lifetime of knowing each other. That old teen chemistry kicks into a hotter mature level that’s swoon worthy. There’s a huge twist at the end that’s heartbreaking and leaves Ry with a new path in life and sis Daire in despair. So sad! I love that Bowe’s dreams play out in a spectacular way and Ry finds a way to keep them together. This story is full of wonderful family and friends with the old folks and the new gen of kids. There are hints of more hookups with this group of young adults. Can’t wait!
